Don't like to hear so much about the heat. Also riding comfort. I live in South Florida and sometimes ride in traffic and heat.

Sorry, but it's hot. I've heard the 1X98s were worse, but I don't have experience with either. Even when cruising the highway and the engine says 165 degrees, my arse is warm. In traffic at 210 degrees, its HOT.

I put up with it because the bike is amazing, but dont expect a cool rear end.

I'm interested in the heat. My last bike was an R1 and it got fairly hot on my rear. That doesn't bother me as much as the reports about the heat being near unbearable at the legs. It regularly gets into the 100's here in the summer so I will get the full experience. Either way, I can't wait.

sorry to change the topic into a heat conversation but... I find that the my 1199S doesn't get near as hot as my 848EVO did. The evo COOKED my inner thighs! Especially my right one while in traffic.

I wonder why they said the Ducati was the most uncomfortable. Just in terms of seating position and ergonomics, the Ducati is way more comfortable than the S1000rr.

Love it, all the negatives they say about the 1199, is all positive for me! I find it way comfier than the Beemer, I have a race seat and it's awesome, I bought a comfy seat too, which was a waste of time as don't need it. I have ridden a Honda VFR1200 for really long rides too, and my 1199 for me is easily on a par with that, if not better!

This is how I judge the credibility of journalists - by how they rate the bike I own (or will shortly own). Clearly these guys are not credible. ;)

My first ride the heat bugged me a bit, second ride not so much and the city gets foggy this will help keep me riding on those cold foggy days!!

2012 European Literbike Shootout - Video - Motorcycle.com

This is the full article. Did anyone inform them that they need to change the suspension linkage from F to P? Zzz

Ye this suspension linkage thing is beyond a joke now. We have a growing body of evidence from riders and specialists alike that the F setting is not usable on normal roads yet Ducati are consistently letting their bikes out to be reviewed for the road with them set to F and the mags are none the wiser. This is the second major review to say that the electronic suspension didn't make much difference when switched to the softer settings!!!

Because the rear suspension would have been left in f (flat) mode, which if you read other posts is way too hard for the road and should be in the p (progressive) mode...

In Europe, Ducati has been an ass with journalists, and they make Ducati pay for it.
This results in funny things, like they all bash the bike, and then, off record, are caught saying : "That cost an arm, but it's worth it", with a big and stoned smile on their face.

During a 40 minute aggressive demo ride it was toasty - temp reached 210+
