Anyone tell what this random cutout is?

Sometimes the QS cable can be routed quite tight especially if if is cable tied through some fierce angles to the two plastic clips under the oil level window. The thin wiring can get damaged or part broken,,,,

My experience was the same. Bike was nearly unrideable, swapped in a new oem qs - bike functioned perfectly.

Funny, when I was newer to riding the OEM QS felt horrible and I was getting false neutrals etc so I switched to the H&M that I could adjust the sensitivity on, loved it, till it failed a year later, switched back to OEM but now have a lot more track experience and now love the OEM shifter…it works really well now for me…I think in the beginning I was lingering on the shift too long or whacking it too hard or something.

(Edit) Cause that’s what happens, newbies over eagerly whack it too hard. 😂😂😂

User error is definitely a thing. Sometimes I get a quick cut and it's always when my foot isn't completely out of the way and I'm exiting a corner into a flat out straight. My body is usually a bit back on the seat such brings my toe upwards(not race shift).

Once, a friend asked me to ride his bike to help him diagnose a problem. Turned out he got new boots and his shifts were not right.

Doesn't hurt to check the user and the linkage adjustment for height.

I suppose with 2022 they changed the lower fairing which has the revised air duct. I don’t think the heat insulation came until 2020 or 2021.

I removed all the sound deadening insulation on the lowers and there is much more room for air to flow in that area, not sure if that makes a difference but so far all good
