Hi All

I collected my brand new V2 Troy Baylis edition and the next day went for a long ride.

To start with the engine started cutting out for a very short time (about 1/2 a second) and the ride mode (Street, Sport) started flashing.

Then after a while I was getting a DTC error and the engine limited itself to 4000rpm.

Then it died completely with a DTC error box on the display.

If I switched it off and on again it was fine and then the above pattern would repeat.

Happened five times on the ride.

Anyone else experience this ie is it a know issue?. I am now a long way from the dealer (had the bike delivered to me house 300km away) so it's not a simple case of just dropping back into the dealer.

Any help/insights appreciated.

I have not had that issue on my V2. Sounds like something is not happy and is putting the bike in limp mode. I think a dealer visit is in order to see what sensor is going bad. Sucks the dealer is so far away.

Check all the electrical connections/plugs starting with the rear speed sensor.

You can buy the cables to read the codes but I would ask the dealer to come pick it up.

It's probably a fuse. Perhaps open the fuse box and ensure all the fuses are okay. I had a similar issue and after trying absolutely everything it turned out to be a blown fuse issue. Replaced the fuse and its been solid since.

The thing about blown fuses is that the fuse isn’t the problem, it’s the thing which caused it to blow.

It was the fuel relay fuse that went out. I think it was an issue associated with my NRC fender eliminator and the license plate light that came with it. The voltage was messing with the ECU causing the yellow triangle to appear on the screen. this was further causing the fan to not start when required.

While riding one day my quick shifter stopped working and all the errors appeared on the screen - DTC error, DWC error etc. The following day the bike wouldnt start. I found the blown fuse and replaced it, and NRC shipped a new light for the license plate and the yellow triangle disappeared.

So the cause for the failure could be anything associated with ecu. Sometimes it doesn't even make sense.

I had a very similar issue.. Luckily I was able to limp to the dealership, but they had the bike for 2 months and ended up replacing the whole ECU which seems to have fixed it.
