Nicky Hayden Seriously Injured

Geez...settle down. If you actually read NW's post he never was deciding for the family and didn't state anything like that. It was our own opinion on if this situation related to us. So to quote you to yourself...on your own post..."great. that is your opinion but is irrelevant since you are insignificant to him in any way." Again nobody was deciding for anybody so stop reading .... into it and being all defensive.

I did and he said "I would be relieved to see Nicky go in peace right now vs. sustaining a medically induced coma indefinitely"

Pretty sure Nicky's family doesn't gives a .... about you being relieved.

Nicky Hayden: Earl Hayden Decries Fake News

My friend Earl Hayden is facing his own medical issues at home in Kentucky and is unable to travel while his son, 2006 MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden, lies in a hospital in Italy, mother Rose Hayden and brother Tommy Hayden at his side.

I spoke to Earl this morning, and adding to the family's pain has been a cascade of FAKE NEWS posted all over the internet, including by alleged professional news organizations that should know better.

Earl told me the following:

The family HAS NOT issued a statement that Nicky is dead.

Nicky IS NOT dead, although he is on life support.

Nicky was riding his bicycle alone, NOT in a group of 14 riders.

Doctors DID NOT perform surgery on Nicky.

Nicky WAS NEVER in an induced coma.

Yes, people want to know what is happening with Nicky, a great motorcycle racer, person and humanitarian. But making things up or failing to do even the most basic due diligence or fact checking, and posting FAKE NEWS for commercial purposes?

Have the guilty news organizations even considered the effect their FAKE NEWS has on the family and friends and true fans of Nicky and his family?

sorry i duplicated young r road racing world post.

im done with this thread all be well and safe

Reading is fundamental... key word you should read is from NW1299 is "indefinitely". So how would you know what the .... the family would want if it was an indefinite induced comma? Again I hear your thoughts on this and everyone including myself and I'm sure NW wants Nicky to pull through. Again your taking .... out of context.

With all do respect, neither Honda nor his family are going to pic up the phone and call all of us. We are going to read about it in the news.

you can still choose the news. as in that post- legit sources. not some clickbait .....

see the roadracingworld article. people in the racing family. not some European journalist with too much time on his hands.

what I was trying to say earlier but probably failed miserably -I think most of what we are learning is lost in translation and blurry at best.
one thing is for sure It is not good. family members and close friends don't talk about someone in the past tense and cry uncontrollably when it looking good.
there is no reason to turn this into a heated discussion.
Maybe some of us feel a strong kinship with Nicky because we've watched him race in person or possibly raced against him in wera/ama comp. I know he feels less like a famous person to me than just a fellow motorcycle racer and enthusiast . Whether you've spent time with him in person , on the track or just watched him from 12yo to 35 on the TV I don't see how you cannot be upset by his injuries and want him to be OK .
surely we can agree on this

it sucks but truth is we can only pray and wait .

Well said and even more so, well timed.
Look at that post number!

Com'on Nickey!

Hey guys I'm not a super long time member here and I've been following this post from the beginning and thinking about posting a positive note to give some hope to all those who's guts feel sick wondering if Nickey will pull through as I do. So I really hope this helps. Also forgive my grammar skills.

Back in 2006 I too was in coma from a motorcycle accident. (woman hit me) I was in coma for a month and docs where saying similar things and could see my brain activity start to improve and eventually came out of it ( which is a whole other story of things I saw and places I thought I was) along with some titanium and reconstruction and I live to ride again, and while my family was enduring the pain of wondering if I'd make it I did pull through with some memory loss and headaches often but Nickey now being in this position I know that prayers work and miracles happen so those of us who trust Jesus as our Lord and savior just keep praying for Nickey, it's very possible he'll be the same good ol' Nickey we all have watched and seen over the years

Keep fighting Nickey!!!

Exactly. Thank you for that.

People do come back and Miracles do happen.

I agree with you. But in this day and age where there are so many global news sources it's not always easy to know what is and isn't legit. Hindsight is always 20/20.

The article said that they're putting fine needles under his fingernails to measure a response in the brain and apparently he reacted to those, so this is a good sign that they also say that the vehicle he collided with was way over the speed limit
