No WSBK coverage on Speed Channel

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I remember when speed channel first started, Tuesday was "two wheel tuesday" and they had all mc related shows on that day, lots of great coverage of bikes on the network. They had a bike show hosted by Larry Meyers and Dave Despain with reviews, etc. The decline started when it became "speed" aka (nascar network).

If you can't blame the execs who do you blame? Of course you blame the execs.
Not every show can be a block buster. If you don't support it, it will die.
I watched NASCAR as a child. As an adult, I stepped up to the real talent, the motorcycle racers. I'm never going back to NASCAR.

DAMN SHAME

On a lighter note... Danica Patrick made the Daytona 500 pole position. Just saying...it was the top story on ESPN this morning...

p.s.
+1 on the "Two Wheel Tuesdays"...ah those were the days!

I gota pole position for her:D Congrats to Danica but I don't care about Nascar:cool:

Ditto - still, you gotta give 'em credit for having a go to begin with. Thing is, the shows they put on are just prodiucts to the investors who are ponying up the dosh, and as soon as they see which ones have a higher ROI, that's where the bucks will start flowing. The logical place for sports without big followings (for whatever reason (or political persuasion)) is niche networks or online, ala Speed2. I expect that's where SBK will end up; the powers that be will just have to finish their stare-down contests to see how much coin can be extracted before signing off.

In the meantime, we just have to figure out our workarounds, and the programmers have to hope they haven't made themselves redundant by the time they get their ducks lined up.

And BTW; Bowdy - get us hooked up so we can watch you in ASBK... ;)

speed sucks and is continuing to get worse since Murdock took over. Thats why i now watch motogp online.

Screw SPEED, they should call it the NASCAR channel.

im with you moto gp online but can you get wsbk online too?

I hate comcast. Any1 have the dish or direct tv with I believe eurosport2 hd. I am thinking of getting either the dish or direct tv. Any info would be appreciated, thnx.

Unbelievable, you think that they could at least play our races at 3 or 4 in the morning so we could dvr them. Speed SUCKS!

i have directv i cant find any eurosport channel. please advise if you know the channel

so as i see it and i have been looking (correct me if i am wrong) but not only are we not getting world superbike but we arent getting moto gp, moto 2, nor ama superbike. How am i to see Josh Hayes 4 peat? yet i have 1000 cartoon channels.

With 3 US MotoGp rounds I would hope they figure out the TV rights before the season starts, but we're a no go on everything else :(

I found this, not good:

Speed is undergoing dramatic change in 2013 as it morphs from an all-motorsports network into a Fox-branded multi-sport network which will try to leverage NASCAR and mainstream sporting events so that it can do battle with ESPN. Speed let F1 go from their schedule last Fall, and as it stands now, according to one insider, "all motorcycle racing is in trouble on Speed, now and in the future".
