It sounds like he may have just pushed too hard too soon:

zimm - yes i got my picks in all the crashes destroyed my run. i got like 76 or 78 i have to look.

second MM93 is not the new rossi. he is the first marquez. rossi at his prime couldnt beat this guy and he had a messed up leg didnt practice and played with everyone. the level of talent that is around now compared to when rossi was racing is nill. rossi is washed up yes he got second. same as he got last year at the same race. means nothing. 2 race leaders crashed that puts rossi to 4th. when he tried to do anything to marquez, marquez was like mosquitoes are in the desert and shooed him away. rossi was pretty funny at the press conference after though.

ducati was 5th and 6th but jlo bradl smith bautista all would have finished ahead of him

ionne fantastic race crashed and finished 11th

19 races for MM 10 poles 17 podiums. get use to it and another win at cota

dont forget in the beginning of the race MM was on the hard tire. strategic i guess that he would have tire for the end of the race. that is the only reason rossi passed him in the beginning i think i heard mm saying ok i let this old guy have fun time to pass goodbye.

We can all use the coulda/woulda/shoulda/ arguments here...Fact is Rossi was 2nd and looked great (and yes I dislike the guy too) and the Ducatis looked a lot more competitive than they were last year... MM is the man... No doubting that...he is becoming the Seb Vettel of MotoGp... which in a way is a shame because that can lead to boredom.....

Rossi showed why he is great: patience, adaptability, and trackcraft. Marquez showed tremendous maturity pacing himself and not getting baited into Rossis masterfully laid traps. Lorenzo looked like he made the mistake of trying to race like the conditions weren't crappy. A bit wide into the dirty track with cold tires = boom.

masterful traps are you serious with this garbage. MM was on a hard rear tire he had to wait. rossi did nothing special. when mm needed to pass it was so long to rossi. please take the goggles off already.

honda is stronger bike whoever said that you do know JLO (yamaha) had 8 wins last year to marquez 6 wins (honda)

JLO same bike as rossi 8 wins vs 1 win last year.

Oh how sweet it would be for Rossi to win at COTA and MM get a DNF.

Valentino was great, he is still on form, as sharp and aggressive as he ever was. The 14 Ducati is looking better than it has since Stoner, I think Davi will podium with it this year.
But nobody has anything for the KID, he can throw that bike around like he's on dirt, and make it stick.

It's a long shot, but Mark is a betting guy. Since the odds are waaay in his favor, I'd be willing to take the counter position and say that if MM beats Rossi in the final standings I'll buy an MM shirt and wear it. The problem is I don't hate MM the way Mark hates Rossi.

lets be realistic the season has started and Rossi honestly can do no worse than fourth. so all you really need is a slip up by one of the spaniards and rossi is on the podium. as a betting man i would actully bet that he would podium. MM already broke his leg , JLO crashed and dani has a history. so lets make it interesting.

i would be willing to buy an agv turtle or the new one with rossi face behind it that he wore in testing but what if i win? what do i get. i already have the x12 marquez helmet and the rf1200 black mm helmet. i wouldnt buy doctor leathers they are made by dainese and they would never fit i would be singing soprano if i wore them.

rossi looks good for second if JLO bradl danni and marquez are out . yes i know dani finished 3rd he sucks at qutar. no surprise there. rossi will get smoked at cota. cota is where marquez showed his real talent as all the riders had very limited familiarity with the track.
