how can you guys say ducati came in 5th and 6th then add because of the crashes so they still stink then in the same breath say rossi did great but not mention those same crashes. this is why i hate the guy not really cause of him he is likable but the blinders and cult like obsession is crazy. its sort of like the obama following and we all know how good he is right ;)

I wasn't in that bandwagon. In my opinion they still got 8th and 9th and probably always will. :)

EDIT - actually, prob 10th and 11th. JLo, Smith, Espargaro, Bautista and Bradl would have finished ahead of them, IMHO.

didnt say you were . its like michael kay here in ny. the stat is derek jeter is the worst fielding short stop in mlb by this statistical analysis. michael kay (yankee anouncer) says thats garbage . 2 min later bret gardner makes a play in the outield and kay uses the same statistic to say he is the best fielding outfielder . i called his radio show and i was like how can you say gardner is the best fielding outfielder using a stat you totally disregard for derek jeter. makes no sense.

Lets see how this plays out..... Hey Mark How do you like the RF1200???? (Thread Jack lol)

I don't understand why it has to be "Rossi only did well because of crashes". Rossi started 10th and fought his way to first, then battled with MM in slippery conditions that many of the other riders couldn't handle. Yes, MM started (from pole) on a hard tire, but Rossi had to fight through the field and the M1 reportedly struggled for edge grip even with the medium! Rossi didn't have a strong race only because others crashed... he had a strong race PERIOD

love it same as the x12 except for vent placing. i think the rf1200 is the new x12 and they will come out with an x13.

this guy:

IANNONE

if he wouldn't (yeah, woulda coulda shoulda) have crashed ... guess where he would have ended up?

zimm - yes i got my picks in all the crashes destroyed my run. i got like 76 or 78 i have to look.

second MM93 is not the new rossi. he is the first marquez. rossi at his prime couldnt beat this guy and he had a messed up leg didnt practice and played with everyone.

I don't know if you're old enough to remember a motorcycle racing phenom named Freddie Spencer. First and only guy to win 250cc and 500cc championships in same year, youngest ever MotoGP champion - beat the tar out of King Kenny Roberts, the acknowledged GOAT of the time... Sound familiar?

Turns out he burned out fairly quickly for many reasons and even though he is fondly remembered, his reputation is no Agostini or Roberts.

Marquez has a long way to go before he approaches Rossi's legacy, and even then he would have never won on two-strokes, 4-strokes with no electronics, and in as many classes. He's on a fantastic start with tremendous potential, but ultimately history will be the judge.

I'm in agreement with Rossi's statements that Dorna has done a pretty good job, actually. The battles at this race were far better than previous years where the "aliens" were in their own class. Hopefully it remains that way for the rest of the season.

Sometimes the candle that burns the brightest...

little before my time but i know what you are talking about. he rossi went with what he was delt. he cant say who his competition was back then and he took the opportunity delt to him to simply win and win alot, however his lack of being able to develop the ducati actually set ducati back years. unlike stoner who took the ducati and worked with what he had and won the championship on it. anyway im not going to repeat myself. in their primes on the same exact bike i take stoner anyday of the week over rossi. now i may take MM over anyone including stoner. its just progression. jim brown was great in his day and you cant take away his accomplishments but he wouldnt do the same in todays comp.

I never followed Moto GP till last year but been a racing fan for many. Mostly cars.

Rosi last year just seemed to be off just a little. Lets say lack fo belife in ones self.

Yesterday showed confidence as though he knew he would win. Marc's talent is unmistakable at this time but the last few laps could have gone eather way. Got to give Rosi a thumbs up for coming back at this point.

Qatar is a good track for Rossi but, his ride wasn't anything special. He did the same thing last year. Until he beats JLo and MM on a regular, i'm not willing to say "The Dr is back". The way I see it, Rossi did what he's supposed to do; finish in front of the non-aliens. Except for Danni but, then again his alien status is in question lol.

jlo started from fifth to first. the only reason rossi started 10 cause he didnt qualify well. he had a good race but all the comp was gone except for MM. jlo, bradl smith bautista crutchlow iannone all except for crutchlow were ahead of rossi all crashed or had problems. its one race so suddenly hes BACK. he was back last year after his second place finish where? oh yea qutar. what did he do rest of season 1 win when all the Spaniards were hurt or out. this is a lose argument for me anyway. all rossi can do is finish 4th. if he does better he is king and he cant do worse unless he crashes cause there are only 3 riders on bikes that can beat his.. if he does worse than fourth then its terrible for him as that would mean an open bike would place better. JLO fell dani or MM could get hurt very easy and that will move rossi up without doing anything.

thank goodness. dani sucks at qatar its well known. someone not blinded by rossi hype. same things as i have said.

when did he ever leave? just curious hes been around a while never seen him leave. do you mean ducati as leaving as he said stoner did nothing special than ate his words saying how could anyone ride this bike?

Lorenzo got the holeshot, then tried to breakaway from everyone and he couldn't even complete one lap. His race strategy failed. You speak as if Rossi didn't have a good race pace and was only advancing positions when someone in front of him fell. Rossi was running down the leaders and was consistently running good times. Bradl couldn't maintain his pace and neither could Iannone. I believe Bautista crashed out toward the end of the race and that was AFTER Rossi already passed him. If Rossi is a washed up racer, how the hell did he run down your hero MM? Only because of MM's leg right? lol

Finishing races (not just winning them) is all part of the game, so if at future rounds JLO and MM get DNF's and Rossi gets wins that's not a knock against Rossi. A veteran racer knows the importance of finishing races so he practices good risk management.

I like Rossi's chances if he can continue to race up front and keep pressure on the top riders. He forced MM into quite a few mistakes and who's to say if Lorenzo didn't crash out MM could have been forced into a much bigger mistake. COTA can't get here quick enough!! I'm pumped up for this season!

going to be a great season for sure. cota rossi finishes no better than 4th note it. i love how you cant reason with rossi fans. its amazing no matter what he did the last 3 years he gets 2 second place finishes at the same track a year apart and their you have it.

obvously your hero rossi couldnt catch or should i say stay in front or is it catch my hero MM even when MM was making mistakes and couldnt walk 2 weeks ago. didnt test at all and was a little rusty and still won. get back to me when he does something of significance. second place i see your excited he has 3 seconds 1 first and a bunch of 4th and worse in 3 years i believe.
