This is why I’m a little salty towards the brand. It’s like they’re constantly trying to bend you over. I’ve only been following the Ducati scene closely for the last 3-4 yrs after picking up my V4S, but is this price gouging a normal thing or just recent?

I've noticed one is almost always better (especially in this example) to order from overseas if a return isn't a consideration, and further to order from the OEM supplier if possible. In this particular instance...

~$700 from overseas

~$1000 from a north american Ducati dealer

~$350 from OEM (Ohlins)

I came across a site that has Panigale V4 frames listed for ~$1400. It's right at $2K when ordered through the US dealer network.

The adjuster somehow backed all the way out of my left (compression) fork. Unless I can somehow power the adjuster and get the motor to run long enough to thread the adjuster back in, there doesn't seem to be a way to fix it, outside of buying a new cap assembly. Which are a hilarious $995 (each) from Ducati, 34921321A. I'm planning on reaching out to Ohlins USA though.

I broke the plastic section trying to get it back together. Once I realized it wasn't meant to be serviceable I wasn't very delicate with it. The damper rod merely presses into the end and can rotate freely. I'm at a loss for how it backed out though.

Just reading this old thread, just interested how you figured out this had happened? Did you feel it when riding of did you see it when servicing?

Saw it when servicing, but the compression dampening seemed non-existent, which I didn't think was a damper rod problem, I thought I may need different springs.

I'm still not sure how it happened. I suspect (read: wild ass guess) maybe I had the battery disconnected while the forks were off and/or disconnected and Ohlins ECU lost track of the position or it was or got otherwise out of sync.

It's odd that it was only one fork though. After I got everything back together with the replacement top cap I tested it by switching between full out and full in (manual mode) and all seems well.
