All,

After checking the other thread about the recall I checked that link,
And my batch wasn't one of the ones recalled.

However got a letter through from Ducati UK this week and thought naa I'm ok,
Well feck me, I checked the ohlins online site that has a link specific to OEM supplied and mine is affected :(

Link is below and if you have the Ohlins rear TTX 36 shock supplied original with the bike, might be worth another check!

I have a 1299S

Motorcycle originally equipped TTX Shock Absorber - Ohlins Racing

Mine affected as well, shop saying it'll be a week as they have to send the shock away.

Mine is not affected either according to the site search but when did dealers address these defects? Are they still selling new bikes that need recalls?

And my dealer is about 3 hours away. And I just had service done last Thursday. And they clearly didn't check it.

Any suggestions on what I should be asking for to rectify this fcck up? Other than obviously doing the recall?

Does anyone have any more info on what this defect is, other than "assembly defect"?

Apparently here in UK,
if you have Ducati Assistance they will pick the bike up from your house to the dealer :)
May be worth a check to see if your covered.

Anyone can help me find the batch number for my 1299s. Looked at the website but batch number is not where is states. Also the shock looks different on the ohlins website

In between the bike and the shock, cylinder at rear. Use a flashlight... (The pic of my finger is pointing in the direction to look, not directly at batch #)

Unfortunately mine is affected. I'll call the dealer on Tuesday - anyone had this actually resolved yet?

It's on the other side of the shock at the top, took mine off to get a good look at it.

I've got the exact same batch number as you :(

Did you find the "defect" with the shock off?

Told by dealer incorrect torque on one of the nuts in the unit. 'Could' lead to a failure of compression and rebound, has to go back to Ohlins to be rectified.

Unless it's over torqued on the aluminum, wouldn't it just be so much easier to fix it ourselves??

well this sucks. mine's affected.

how this OUGHT to be done is we bring the bike in, they swap out the shock, then we roll on our merry way. 30 minutes.

I will be fairly irritated if I have to drop the bike off, take a taxi home, while it sits there as they send the shock to Sweden and wait for its return.

I hope not; I had to have the fuel sender replaced on my Multistrada under warranty. Dropped the bike off on a Tuesday, they ordered the part from Italy, and I got the bike back two days later.
