Ohlins rear TTX 36 shock recall - Ducati OEM supplied with bike

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Just sent Ohlins an email about the batch number that I have, and the "punch" mark that I also have. I'll advise what they respond with.

Pic for reference:

Called my dealer (a good one, for what it's worth) and they said they checked it "with ducati" and it wasn't affected. I told them the Ohlins site indicates that mine actually IS defective and they said they'd get back to me...

Anyway mine has the punch mark too, so I'm interested to know what you hear back from Ohlins.

Initial reply from Ohlins...

"We are out of the office for July 4th holiday. We will be out of the office Friday July 3rd & Monday July 6th. We will return to the office Tuesday July 7th!

Thank you, Jerry"

All good though. Have never heard anything but good things about Ohlins. Hopefully they're enjoying all of their favourite rides on some great suspension setups this weekend.

Selfish .......s!!! How can they celebrate our nation's birth when there's such uncertainty surrounding the punch marks on their suspension products???:p

For real though, I am looking forward to their response...

Here is answer I received:

"Dalton,

The dot means the shock has already had the recall service. Many of these had the procedure performed at the warehouse prior to shipping to the dealer. You're good to go.

Best regards,"

If anyone else needs that peace-of-mind, email Ohlins and they'll probably get back to you in a pretty timely fashion. I attached a picture of my batch# off of my shock, to show the "punch" mark.

All good to go.

Mine on the 2014 R was swapped during the first service.

I also finally got time to measure the suspension, and like most, it is way too stiff. I also called OhlinsUSA (828.692.4525 x 313) and they sell the C Spanner to adjust the rear shock preload ($5.56, P/N00710-06). Two are on the way (sorry, took the last two in stock. more are coming). I think I am going to also get the bike measured for straightness. Has a slight tendency to drift left (maybe its my lazy eye).

Anyone know if you can get spare preload C rings and the blue/silver ride height adjuster nuts?
Mine are beaten pretty bad...
