Mine isn't affected but I am admittedly surprised for (and annoyed on behalf of) some of you guys who are affected. I'm pretty sure this recall was known before most of these bikes were sold?

For those of you guys who were affected what were the build dates on your bikes? Mine was February 2015. Shock batch number was 140002.

I just bought my 1299 S Saturday and it's still at dealer floor. won't be able to pick her up til 2 weeks from now (business trip). will have dealer double check mine.

Thx SteveO

Yep...crap

Unfortunately mine is affected. I'll call the dealer on Tuesday - anyone had this actually resolved yet?

Yep, a few race buddies have had to send theirs back off other bikes. I dont remember exactly how long, but it was a fairly quick turn-around.

I checked the ones on my 675, R6 and RSV4 and they are all good.

D&D is checking the one on my 1299S tomorrow.

how this OUGHT to be done is we bring the bike in, they swap out the shock, then we roll on our merry way. 30 minutes.

I will be fairly irritated if I have to drop the bike off, take a taxi home, while it sits there as they send the shock to Sweden and wait for its return.

The thing is, how many dealerships have a bunch of TTX shocks laying around on inventory?

Yeah but the bikes were built a long time ago.

From what I remember being told by the Ohlins guy at the track, it was an issue with a torque wrench that wasn't set properly. Shocks were rolling down the assembly line and one person had a wrench that wasn't set properly (or had malfunctioned) and all of the shocks handled by that individual didn't get torqued properly.

I just received a recall notice via email from Ducati Australia and New Zealand for the Ohlins rear shock on my 1299S.

Yep...crap

Notice the little punch mark next to the number?
when I worked in the mc industry we would put a punch mark on the frame of the mc to verify the recall had been done ( in an assigned location by the mfgr)

mine is affected too just wondering if the punch mark is made by the person who repaired the recall
this recall came out long before the bike hit the US I can't believe the dealer would let this slip. what the FAKK

If that is true that'd be awesome!! Thanks for the heads up..Ill investigate and report back.

ETA: I found this article published June 15th this year....

Ducati 1199 Superleggera, 1199 Panigale R and S Recalled for Faulty Rear Monoshocks - autoevolution

Superleggera monoshocks to be repaired, 1199 Panigale S and R ones replaced altogether

The rear shock absorber on the Superleggera will be dismounted from the bike by authorized technicians and sent to Ohlins for repairs, in case it belongs to certain lot numbers. Once repaired, the monoshock will receive a punch mark point-shaped addition next to the lot number.

Looks like if you have the punch your good. Weird that the 1299S isn't called out specifically given the bulletin was published June 8th, 2015.

if your 1299s has a punch mark on it you should look at the torque stripes (the painted stripes on your bolts) they mark the factory torque of the bolts.
Mine do not line up which tells me that the shock was R&Red after assembly .
I intend to call the dealer and see if they did it in house. that would make me want to know what they did . when I contact them I'll report back.

Mine has yellow stripes and they did line up.
