Took the bike to Barber Motorsports park right after changing the oil. I don't think its very smart to continue a break in with the original oil on the track. I'm glad I did there was allot of metal (fine) and pieces of gasket material in the oil. This is something I do with all my new bikes. This being my fourth new bike purchase. This was the most material that I have ever seen during the first oil change.
I do not back this procedure up with any objective evidence of a true advantage. I have adopted this procedure from aircraft engines. We run mineral oil for the first 25 hours. then change to what ever the engine manufacturer recommends. The last aircraft engine I broke in went to 50 hours because we had some minor cylinder glazing. Aircraft engines must be run very HARD for the first 25-50 hours to ensure the rings are seated. I think it's odd that auto and motorcycle manufacturers require us to "baby" the machine at first. Hell, I prefer to beat the .... out of it to find problems.
