Not in love with the front end side view, but at least BMW has a liter streetfighter unlike some other manufacturers.

I think ugly and industrial looking is part of the street fighter look.... Z1000 and KTM SD1290 are very similar...

Doesn't do anything for me. SF's always try to look up and compare to race bikes, might as well get the real thing.

I think the idea of a streetfighter is to be a near super bike level comfortable street bike. At least thats what I get from the segment.

Looks to long and chopped up to make it look like something that it is not. When you take a Superbike and try to make a Streetfighter out of it then it mostly never ends up looking right.

It doesn't look horrible, but it certainly isn't a beautiful bike. It is commendable that BMW went through with producing a naked version of the S1k, but it does appear slightly choppy and the peak power figures seem to be too high in the rpm range for a naked. I'm sure it will make for a fun bike, but I'm not seeing much at this point to separate it from the crowd. Looking forward to ride reviews.

If by very similar you mean the Z1000 is basically the same bike it's been for a while and the SD1290 is FREAKIN' AWESOME....and ultra light for a street fighter/naked sport standard....and much more powerful than most other nakeds....and much lighter.....then yes, very similar :D

i like the WUNDERLICH version better:

I like the look better then the RR

What ruins it for me is how they detuned the RR to make the R.

Bike above is just sick.

I kind of like the look of the S1000RR, but not this thing. i mean how ugly can you make a bike.

BMW didnt even have to take its clothes off to get that look. The front looks like they are sticking with the same theme. Ugly...

The KTM looks more like a purpose built street fighter than something they ripped the fairings off IMO.

You have a point...KTM certainly is the biz in the street-fighter segment now..... But I am thinking it will be $20k... and that's a lot of money for a 2nd bike....
