One person asks if you can commute on these things...

I forgot to mention that if I commuted via a car (one person; no carpool) it will take me about an hour or more to do 17 miles instead of 20 minutes with the Panigale

I watched this video about a week or two ago and loved it but did not agree with all of it as I commute in Los Angeles daily on my 1199 from Reseda to Glendale. I love it. The bike just makes me feel different than my gsxr 750 or Daytona 675 ever did. That being said, it does have it's issues and I am more than happy to live with them. I've actually talked to Mr. Von Grumble via Facebook and he's a nice guy. In his latest video he test rides an 899 and LOVES it and has one on order actually. He has a long commute and seems to want to make it as easy as possible. He obviously found the 1199 to be a little more painful than he'd like but he does love it still as he mentions in another video. I highly recommend watching his other videos as they are very funny and he does love riding a motorcycle.

Hi all!
Do you have some tips on making the bike softer for street riding? My commute consist some traffic and some bumpy roads.

I found some good info on the DES suspension page. I weight 200LBs w/o gear
Front compression - 15
Front rebound - 11
Rear compression - 22
rear rebound - 19

Haven't figured out how to adjust the preload yet (Someone help)
But they recommend

Front preload 41mm
Rear preload 25mm

Steering damper is 11 clicks from tight

Thinking of switching from F to P soon.

Thanks

Just wondering from the owners.
Do u see any issue running this bike 5 times a week to Fri m work.
In rain, cold and the warm sunny days.

I'm think of making the most of the panigale
I am in Melbourne also and travel to Altona very Friday on the bike. The few times it has rained which it can do in Melbourne I found "wet" mode perfect. It is the safest I have ever felt.

The best thing apart from the fun is it can save 30 - 40 mins in peak hour as well.

The only thing on those 40 degree C days it can get a tad warm.

The Dragon Lady makes the perfect commuter with race mapping, full ceramic coated and liberated Termis, PCV 5 and autotune, MWR filter and 42 rear sprocket. I always ride on 195 hi in sport mode. :D

Commute 5 days a week, if I drive the 1199 (20minutes) if I drive the SUV (40minutes-1hour) it's hot in the summer, great in the cold mornings no more cold ass..

I ride it every day to work and leave it at home once a week when I don't feel well. Other then that I commute 60 miles each day .take 30-40 minutes on the bike and 1hr 30-2hr in a car traffic jam. Yesterday I avoid a dumb driver backing up in the middle of the road trying to switch lanes 1 inch from hitting my leg as I was coming up , l felt my life is in danger , so I leave it home and got stuck in traffic today.

Iv'e done it once or twice, I commute 30km each way, in ..... vancouver traffic, it takes me 1 hour to do the 30km home, its bloody horrible on the pani, roasting my nuts sat in stationary traffic, engine heat registering 107c, fans on all the time, choppy throttle at low speeds........ it, I'd rather use my yamaha 125 scooter to do the job, which is built for doing this kind of job.....problem is its an ugly ..........lol
