So one of the justifying (rationalizing?!) reasons for my SL purchase was that I generally spend at least 50% of a bikes purchase price on mods and this one just comes "done". Well, I've not even taken delivery yet, and I'm already making changes.

Word has it the stock rearsets won't allow for GP-shifting (which is a non-negotiable, must-have for me). This means they must be replaced... but with what? Suggestions can range from performance minded (knurled/grippy, etc) to aesthetics (which may be tricky given the red/orange color of the SL), to brand loyalty, yada yada yada

Rizomas? Lightech? Interested in your (collective) opinions

Jello I would go for DP. Keeps it all ducati then. And you know they will work.

Those footpegs look as slippery as the OEM ones. Their stuff is usually exquisite, those would be just to spend the money.

Completely agree here with you. The footpegs are useless.

DP are great, but replacing the steel bolts with Ti might become a never ending quest on the internet :)

the rearsets on the SL are not the same as on the other panigales. they are forged instead of being casted, and the bolts are made from Ti (at least that's what I have been told by the importer here).

So, it might be a good to first only replace the OEM pegs with grippier ones and checkout whether the DP reverse shift rod really doesn't fit.

These look Noice . Don't know how adjustable they are but SL riders will only really be after looks anyway .

Yeah, I'm about to leave the country for a few weeks, and I suspect the SL will show up while I'm away. Since the dealer will be prepping the bike anyway (race exhaust, windshield, etc) I wanted them to take care of GP shifting it so I can just get my ass in the seat and ride without further delay.

That means leaving specific instructions on assuming the reverse shift rod really doesn't fit (if it does, i'll even leave OEM pegs for now) - since I'll mostly be incommunicado.

I guess the choices are really either LighTech or DP. The LighTech actually look to be a superior (and more adjustable) product. Keeping it in the Ducati family for parts would be nice for irrational/sentimental reasons, but I'm not sure that's enough to sway it...

A general question: Do you guys prefer folding or non-folding pegs?

On my Rizoma RR sets they were non-folding and I had to build a custom adaptor to make them folding because of the law here. But I do prefer non-folding. I feel more save when changing my position on the bike. somethings I hit the tip of the pegs with my boots and they start fold in. I hate this!

Look similar to the ones on the Desmosedici which were fine . Unless you need to adjust them just leave them as is .

by "fine" do you mean the reverse shift rod was not an issue? Or are you just referring to grip?

What? Why would that be a law?? Is the idea that it will protect the road if they fold? Or to keep the bike from skipping/flipping during a low-side? or what? That is a curious law.

(p.s. I can't imagine anyone who would prefer folding for any reason... I can't fathom a good reason why)

it's to theoretically protect pedestrians from getting hurt when driving into them.
and it's not the only stupid thing: mirrors must be folding, and even open dry clutch covers are not allowed anymore. If you get caught, you'll lose your license.

Someone on this forum already mentioned it before: I shall leave europe. too much lazy penpushers here!
