Ordered 1299 Bodywork

Interested in the kit part numbers for all of this, as still nothing showing on the Ducati official accessories site in Europe.

I agree. I don't want to deal with block off plates and I doubt the edges are reinforced like quality race bodywork.

On to more important matters. When am I picking up that R6?

:D

Depends on how I get along with the 1299S.

"Race" bodywork does not have headlights, real nor fake. And it doesn't have holes where headlights would go. Nor does it have any plugs/connectors for lights.

THIS is race bodywork...

That set is $966/$1449 depending upon the set type, I can almost buy two sets of the Ducati kit for that price of the Ultralite ($1449). Plus it's for an 1199.

1199 Panigale Supersport Set - Ultralite

In my original post, which started this thread, I stated that I ordered bodywork, nothing about 'RACE'. What I ordered, as also stated, is that this will serve both track and street, something RACE bodywork will not.

WTF?

That isn't race bodywork. Who would want that ....? Seems to me like they just made a cheaper version of real bodywork and are trying to make a good profit.

Do that have REAL race bodywork available?

Apparently me the OP would want that "....". Its cheap (I paid a little over 800 with shipping), fits like OEM (because it is OEM) and is all you need for track days. And at the time, it was the only body work available.

I know what that bodywork is and what bike it is for.

And in the post I originally quoted (not your OP), the poster specifically said "race bodywork". That stuff is not race bodywork.

Thanks, highside. Is everything interchangeable except for the front fairing then? What about the sides - ?

So with ArmorBodies and SharkSkinz not likely to produce 1299 specific bodywork before the end of the year, I broke down and ordered the Ducati Performance bodywork from my Ducati dealer. I shall try painting it myself.

I can't speak for others but I assumed you wanted race bodywork since one of the two companies you mentioned doesn't even make street bodywork.

Who cares if its race bodywork or not, I'm keen to see more when you get it, I like the idea of being able to swap out the lights with the blanks for track days etc.

My local race organization and I care. Forget that they crash better, easier to repair, and aren't predrilled for OEM hardware, but how about the fluid retention of an OEM belly pan?

Ducati calls it "track fairing kit". Silly me and my cognative shorthand to use the word "race" instead of "track" when refering to these fairings. Didnt know that it would be so offensive certain insecure individuals.

What the .... are you talking about? Nobody is insecure. No need in trying to be a smartass when you were the one who used the incorrect terminology.

There is a distinct difference between street bodywork and RACE bodywork. And myself any many others are anxiously awaiting true race bodywork. These threads/subjects/keywords come up in searches all the time. So in a thread where people are talking about 1299 race bodywork (and even mention Sharkskinz and AB, who make race bodywork), it is important to make sure people understand this stuff is NOT race bodywork.

yep agree, the ducati track bodywork is fine till you crash in it and then you realize that you are ridng oem fairing and they have disintegrated.

For track riding i don't think they are a good option and you are better off going down the Armor bodies/sharksinz root etc otherwise just buy the cheap chinese stuff as that will also disintegrate if you crash but it's half the price of the oem stuff.

i'm in the process of fitting my 1199 bodywork on the new R, i think it's a better option then buying the ducati stuff.

Exactly . Bodywork is there to protect the bike I have seen the plastic "track " fairing smash into hundreds of pieces leaving the expensive parts of your bike exposed to the track . Good quality "race" fairings will hold together and protect the bike from getting ...... up .
