Ducenzo, exactly, and thanks to your info, I did shop around more.

Actually, I had to pay the NC tax (since that's where I'll be registering), which worked out to $510 (also 3%, but no cap on it like SC), or my OTD would have been $210 less, or $18,677!

And luckily, I'm military, so I don't have to pay the annual vehicle tax in NC, so future ownership costs outside of maintenance and possible modifications will be low.

That's one of the perks of SC, max $300 sales tax on new vehicles. I live down in Florida now so I'm not so lucky anymore...6%. But registration fees in SC are rediculous when it comes time to get a new sticker for your tag.

i am fine with the 300 but i don't know what to expect at the DMV? you mean property taxes?

The price I listed is with sales tax included only one dealer in Indiana and one in Michigan. They are both within a couple hundred of each other. I tried to get the first service throw in and it was a no go. What's the dealers number in Il your were speaking of.

Ok dealer dropped $500 off the price would not do anything on first service and 15% off parts for 30 days still gonna shop around some more. With tax it now comes to $19,777

In Switzerland they are (all in Swiss Francs)
1199 - 24,990.- CHF
1199s - 30,990.- CHF
Tri - 35,990.- CHF

THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS !!! you need to shop around bro

Now I dont know if like IL they give you plates at the dealer when you buy the bike in Indiana, but if not and you still have to go down to the DMV and pay tax/registration, the most OTD should be is $19k...that MSRP $17995 plus set up/freight anywhere from $496 to $1000. oh, and their paperwork might include processing fee $100 or so, thats it!!!.

only way I'd pay over $19,000 is if sales taxe and plates included...and even then i'm negotiating 1st service free lol

Once again, TAXES - PLATING - and Doc Fee are different from State to State and county to county. If titled a bike to Chicago the sales tax is 9.25% while 1hr away its 7%... I want to know what people are paying in reference to the MSRP...

If you titled your bike to say CHICAGO, you're pay 9.25% sales tax on $17,995, Doc Fee, and approx $100-150 for plates...

well thats why I specifically said unless all taxes, registration, freight/set up come to $19K + then I understand.

I know this because I've bought a bike in IL before...sales tax here in MO is 7.25%

In regards to MSRP, im oaying the suggested $17995....my discount is on the set up/ freight...only $495

The price for the Tricolore out here in Hawaii is $30,035 OTD (taxes, reg, etc...included).
Base $20,000 OTD (+$1K ABS)
S $25,000 OTD (+$1K ABS)
Tricolore $30,000 OTD

Because the guy I am getting my bike off doesnt sell bikes, just orders them in for people, I dont haggle over the set price, plus I know I will get the bike tuned and worked on by one of the best in OZ:)

In Sydney?

Does anyone know how much the freight charge is in the US for an 1199 (I assume the charge is the same regardless of the model)?

My dealer isn't charging me for freight. They have the total cost of my bike as:

$17,995 bike (base obvi)
$258 titling (since I'm buying in S.Car, and I live in N.Car, this is charged by the finance company)
$540 taxes (N.Car taxes since that's where it'll be titled)
$95 set-up (the only charge my dealer collects from the buyer)
$18,887.85 grand total

I really like this dealer, Touring Sport in S.Carolina. And no, I am not being compensated for saying that. I'm saying that because after calling two other dealers (those who shall not be named, to be nice) and getting slow replies from one, and an almost $20k quote from the other, I made a deal with them in the space of a few days based on the price and responsiveness.

The other dealers quote went something like this:
$17,995 bike (same as above)
$540 tax (same as above)
$449 handling fee for set-up and fluids (WTF?)
$495 freight (the other dealer isn't charging this, again I thought wtf after talking to Touring Sport)
$369 documentation fees (wtf x 3)
$19,915.15 grand total (holy crap)

Hope this helps! (BTW, I was born in Vegas, grew up in Reno though, now stationed in NC)

Thanks for this. Let me know if you ever pass through Vegas and want to go for a ride. Is that an M3 in your profile pic? If so...I like your choice of cage. I use to have an M3...great cage...now I've got a M6.

Out the Door 47.000 usd for 1199 S in Saigon Vietnam. Put down a 20% deposit Oct last year.

Expected delivery date: Unknown.

Don't take for granted what you guy are having. It is SUCKEDDDD for bikers in Asia.

That is an '11 M3 in my 'dream garage.' But it sounds you have upgrades on your toys relative to mine (M6, and S w/ABS, ha). I got the M3 sedan (anathema to some, I know), but that with the 1199 are more than I need really, a lot more. However, if money was no object, Tri, still with the same M3 though, I like the smaller car.

I'll contact you if I ever happen be in Vegas with my bike, thanks friend.
JJ

the bike sitting on the fraser showroom floor in the crate has a price tag of $35, 500. Must be on road cost, which by law in Australia has to be included. I'm going to check my contract I signed to see what the exact figure for the 1199s

Yep that includes on road costs....The Tri is $39,900 on road cost's not included. The $900 could be less cant quite remember.
