Ok I will start an Australia arrival thread....

Walked into Frasers Newcastle today, and saw the first V4 S in its crate. It is sold to a lucky guy ( on the forum?)

I can't seem to get the picture to upload though ....

Dealer said they have about 10 coming and all sold.

This would have been my bike, as I put the first deposit down but I changed to a Speciale. Should know this week when that arrives but I am guessing about 2 more months. Bugger.

Yea I got to sit on a V4 earlier this week in Sydney. Apparently mine should hopefully be in the next shipment which is coming next weekend. So fingers crossed it all goes according to plan

I went to Fraser's Sydney City yesterday, they have got the first shipment and have couple of V4 and 1/2 V4S. All are pre booked and just awaiting finance approvals of their owners, no demo bikes yet.
First V4 was delivered yesterday.

My V4S should be there in the next shipment which they are expecting at the end of the month, hoping if it could land before Easter break then I will get enough ride time during the break.

Yea hopefully they come before Easter break. Been very jealous seeing other people collect theirs.
Options im getting is:
Comfort seat
Rad guard (apparently Ducati performance doesn't have anything as of yet but they will try and get some)
Multimedia system (not yet confirmed when they are coming in)

Any other Aussies out there who have ordered the Speciale have any news on delivery dates?

I thought the V4 looked great, don’t know what all the haters are on about. Looks like a progression of the Panigale and all at the dealers were very complimentary.

Only thing is is that rear licence plate holder has to go!!!!

Was in Sydney this week and saw a couple at Frasers Sydney...

Now this really pi55es me off.. the ugly Oz compliance plate which is being pop-riveted onto the frame.. Completely ruins the side profile!

Does this affect the structural strength of that frame ?

Not sure.. but it sure as hell is fugly!

Agree, horrible and just plain stupid!

Does anyone know someone at Frasers who can get them to put this someplace else?

That is fugly. [emoji20]

Do they not check with the importer or the manufacturer where to put these plates.

I believe, there would have been enough space on the swing arm to place this plate.

technically it’s NF imports that puts them on when they arrive at the warehouse and yea Fraser’s own NF imports so maybe someone will know if there are any other options here ..

Yea the other thing is that the plate doesn’t follow the contours of the frame .. since the frame is slightly rounded and curves whereaas the plate is flate .. so it just doesn’t sit right in the end ..

Curious to know what they did with the 1299SL ? Did they drill into the carbon air box cover ?

I just sent this to the guy handling my sale. Said I would even pay to have this in a better location as it looks like a real lazy solution.

I suggest all this that have bikes on order please annoy your contact also. If enough people see this an issue you would think they would change it.

At least put it where the 1199/1299 Panigale has it which does not have this frame.

Good luck

May also have something to do with structural integrity of were it's placed

Yea that was my original concern.. the structural integrity of it..
Can't it be hidden on the part of the frame which is covered by the fairing.. ?

Some sort of heavy duty sticker than a stupid plate ?
then again why do you even need it ? Doesn't just the engine ID suffice these days ?

Hope you guys get this sorted. It's such a shame

Just emailed my sales executive in Fraser's Sydney City showing my concern about this compliance plate.

And asked him to discuss with GM, let's see if they come back with something.

It's the rule, we need to abide by that but let's see if they can do something to make it better.

ahh cool.. good luck man. keep us posted!

What happened with the 1299SL owners and the stupid plate?
Any Ozzie owners care to share where their plate is? I hope they didn't drill into the carbon airbox frame

Just got a reply from sales rep, it's the VIN plate and it's directly coming from the factory like this.

Emailed him again to check, as none of the international models have this plate, may be its due to some Australian regulation.

Damn that sucks! They just put it the easiest place possible for them, without regard for the owner of the unit or aesthetics. They could've easily put it on the inside of the frame during the build which makes me think this is an afterthought because of regulations.
