Several have done the 41 tooth, and very happy with the difference. You should start there, as it is a difference you will really feel immediately. Ducati of course even recommends it, and the mapping takes advantage of it. For almost $2000 the slips will only add a handful of horsepower, and not nearly as noticable. Either way, you'll want the 41T anyway, so start there.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks Trauma
you recommend 41 over the 14 on the front ?
front sprocket it's a cheaper mod

some people claim to get a lot more mid range with the termi slip-on
don't know what to believe

Get both! My tri was transformed after the first service when the slips and up map were installed. Most peeps report the same for the 41t!

I bought the Kyle racing chain & sprocket kit which includes 2 sprockets. 41 and 15 I believe. Why are people only posting about the 41 and not both?

What do you mean??? It already has a 15 front...

Dude thanks for the heads up. Clearly you can tell I'm no advanced gear head. I had to pick a combo when ordering online and went 41/15 when ordering the kit based on hearing that's a favorite combo and not knowing 15 was already stock tooth. Oh well, it is Superlite brand so maybe I'm shaving off a few ounces by using the Superlite 15 over stock no? I do feel like a ....... some but oh well:cool:

Its cool... I thought I was the one missing something here...lol

I have yet to figure out why many on here insists on the 41T rear sprocket vs. the 14T front sprocket. The 41T rear sprocket upgraded on a non-R requires a new chain, so about the cheapest you're going to get that whole setup for is about $300, not including labor if you have the dealer do it.

I got an AFAM steel front 14T front sprocket for $40 shipped, which works with the OEM chain and stock rear 39T sprocket, and is roughly the equivalent of going up 3 teeth in the rear. Had my dealer swap out the OEM 15T front sprocket for the AFAM at the first service and he didn't even charge me.

This made a night and day difference in the bike and it accelerates so hard now that I can't wait to get to the track as trying to wind through more than 1 gear on the street is already a straight-to-jail offense in the crappy state of Florida that I live in. I have the Termi slip-on and it was installed at the same time, so I can't comment on which provided the bigger boost in acceleration, but if I were a betting man, I would put it all on the 14T front sprocket.

Some say there is new mapping that adapts the TC to the 41T rear sprocket, but I have not been convinced of this. My 2 local dealers knew nothing about it, although that is not saying much :D

What you say has some validity but I would like to add my thoughts...

Firstly I went with 41T because Ducati recommended that set up and that's how the TC is programmed to have...Secondly you do not have to replace the chain.. I didn't I just had the dealer add 2 more links to my "old" chain... Out the door for less than $200... whilst I agree its not the cheapest route given the extra angle you are forcing the chain to negotiate around the 14t front it may well be a better option???.... But no doubting this is subjective...Just wanted to put out some more info out there about these options...

Once I get back to Florida I'm getting the Termi slips & 41T conversion. Apart from a couple more CF parts that will about do it for me for my mods.

I actually did the 14T front, which is identical to 41T rear, and is cheaper - best bang for the buck by far. Seriously try this, I promise it will transform your bike.

I was cautious about 14t as there seemed to be some concern floating around for a whole about chain-swing arm clearance. Clearly enough peeps are running 14t now that we can put that one to bed.
Traction control only looks at the relative speed between the front and back wheels so only tire diameter at various lean angles are interesting. User manual suggests that different TC profiles are tuned to different known tire profiles
I think there exists some confusion because Ducati released the 206 map at the same time (and included with) as the optional sprocket kit. However I think you find that you will receive the 206 map at your next service regardless of your sprocket setup (I did)
To the best of my knowledge 206 contains some subtle changes to the fuel and throttle tables but nothing else eg. changes to traction control. I couldnt detect any change in the ride after the update.

It's all good with the Termi slips;)
I had improved fuelling, which automatically translated into better performance.
And I got the sounds:)
Best bang for the buck.

I'd do the 41T rear and the slips. the price of the full system and the minimal gain in HP and weight savings drove me to get the slips. I did the slips first and felt a difference right away. Shortly after I did the 41T rear and I'm very pleased with it. Bear in mind that there is a Upmap for the slips as well as the 41T for it to run optimal.

Did the termi slips and noticed the change in power delivery, possibly the map upgrade and the exhaust flow freely (also you have an awesome RACING come up on the dash when turned on), yes it sound far better, no different in the loudness compared to the standard mufflers, however more deeper, throaty sound to it, also no flapper valve to have that ppppssssssffffffff sound when at certain revs on hills and it closes up. Still have not done the gearing, but will be doing this next, it's your choice but as others have stated do the Termi slips, save some dollars on purchasing the full system (unless you are racing), as there is plenty enough power for the road, and buy some other bolt on parts. Only my opinion, if you want to spend that money go ahead.

Hope this helps.
