Nononono... You have to have a nascar welder weld this cans for ya

Look, ya'll. I'm sitting on a surplus of empty Cambells soup cans and have an old Harbor Freight welder. Just let me know if you prefer Chicken Noodle or Vegetable.

Will they be made "in-house"? By that I mean sub-contracted out.

I heard this system at the 2014 Indi GP. The Pani sounds like a freekin GP bike with this exhaust. But unfortunately, one would have to be a fool to purchase any parts from AR after the way he conducted himself here, and also for the way he treated Waf....

You mean his "the customer is always wrong" customer service approach:D

But no one can say that can does not sound awesome. Ive never dealt with AR but bought a second hand diavel with one on it.

It sounds amazing.

I would consider an AR for my new Panigale R - Reviews on the exhaust would be good. How is the bike running with it on

can I get photos of both sides of the bike also

thanks

Phill

Some people confuse loud with a sound that actually sounds decent . I have never heard a AR exhaust with a decent sound absolutely loud but awful .

The sound in the clip is obnoxiously loud. Termignoni, Akropovich are two great sounding and loud exhausts.

The exhaust are quite basic and actually very back yardish. They are loud because that's what sells to a certain type without that I doubt they would have any market share at all .

Agreed.

Loud doesn't = good.

IMO, they sound like ..... And there is no way I would put one on my bike.

Did those pipes ever actually produce any notable performance gains? I don't recall ever seeing a dyno sheet from someone that actually bought them.

Yes the pipe performed well on the very top end. But with the 1199, it created a huge hole (drop in power) around 5-7K rpm.

So my suspicion is that exiting corners where you find yourself lower than 7K revs, drive out of those corners will negatively impacted. On the straights though, you may be king.

And when I say the Pani AR system sounds like a GP bike, thats exactly what I mean. It's crazy.

We should also keep in mind that sound is subjective. Harley guys think straight pipes on their hogs sound good. I hate them with a passion. I've heard the AR exhaust on an Ape, S1000, Super Duke, Pani. I happen to like all of them.

With that said, ones money would be better spent on the Akra system. It is second to none. Form, fit, and function.

What I can remember from our forum member who actually bought an AR pipe with a RBR module was that he could never replicate AR's claims and lost power everywhere (and burnt the living shot out of himself).

I don't remember seeing that at all. If we are talking about Wafatboy, he brought his bike to two different dynos, the second of which put him more inline with AR's claims, but he still had that massive dip in the power band. A dip that can be attributed to the design of the pipe. He also had quality issues with part of the system cracking, a nightmare of a time getting a warranty replacement, and then was badmouthed by Rich.

Perhaps there is another member you are referring to? I don't know who burned themselves. I do know of fairings that were burned though...

From the owner:

So to be clear this was the setup:

- unplugged rear wheel speed sensor.
- high speed air into front of bike. (couldn't stand in front of it)
- turned off ABS, EBC and DTC
- ran in Track mode
- ran 98 octane gas.
- bike was nicely warmed up after 2.5 hr ride
- Tuneboy tune

The graphs attached represent my bike with AR Inconel system compared with a customer 1199 of Bunbury Ducati plus one against their 1199 with full system. I am going to post TQ graphs in a separate post. Neither bike was tuned.

1. Stock standard 1199 pipes
2. Termi Slip-ons
3. Termi 70mm full system
4. Termi 70mm full system on Bunbury Ducati bike

The runs on the other bikes were performed on the same dyno but on different days.

I'm pressed for time now so I'm going to post the three compares plus the TQ charts.

The executive summary is:

AR Inconel: 190.90HP/94.80TQ
Stock standard 1199 pipes: 183.80HP/91.11TQ
Termi Slip-ons: 186.91HP/93.18
Termi 70mm Full (latest up-map): 189.78HP/? (sorry missed the TQ chart)
Termi 70mm full system on Bunbury Ducati bike: 193.75HP/96.02TQ

Four key takeouts for me:

1. There is very little between the AR system and my Termi slips, as we saw on our previous dyno run but there is a not insignificant hole in power and an even bigger one in TQ in favour of the Termi Slips.

2. Overall the AR system HP wise performs better than the customer bike from 6800 onwards (tight towards the end). There is a bigger hole between 6-7 on the AR system. (again don't have the TQ graph, will have to source.

3. Compared to the Termi full system, apart from that hole 6-7, the AR pipes can perform better where it counts, although the BD bike did better at peak HP, and if they could sort that hole then it would be a good alternative with sound and weight taken into account.

4. Compared to the Slip-ons the AR system doesn't look great value as overall the Termi-slips perform better from a normal riding perspective.

So on balance I am happy that the AR system has delivered comparable numbers as a full system alternative. Do I wish someone else had spent the $5k to learn this before I ditched the Slips, absolutely :D

We were doing some more tuning of the initial fuelling (pro-bono work from ProTwin as they were experimenting with the existing setup before doing the baffle swap, and btw they extracted another 3-4hp across the mid range and up-top so even on the more conservative dyno its now doing almost 180hp).

When they stripped down to do the swap they found the pipe had cracked around an exhaust bracket weld. AR are replacing that section and they are fabricating a new bracket with a larger contact area as a precaution. I expect to get the new section back in a week or so and AR have responded well.

The R comes with Akra and from all I have been reading I think I will probably get the full system in time.

But for now I just want rid of the cat.

Will look at what my cheapest options for for that

thanks guys
