Nothing wrong with the OEM Panigale oil filter but wondering if anyone has come across an aftermarket unit for this bike? Tried a search on various forums and suppliers sites but to no avail. Thought they would be available by now.

no after market ones out yet. dont know how true it is but i was told could take a while if its a patent model. im not a law guy i dont know but i looked extensively for an aftermarket one.

hope this helps

that being said if anyone finds one let me know.

ps ebay has a ducati dealer that sells the filter and all the washers all in for 40 bucks shipped thats what ive been using.

Did a little more digging and found the Hiflofiltro HF159 for the Panigale. Haven't checked out availability but it's listed in their catalogue.
Have used the Hiflo product on other Ducati models and bikes and feel it's of high quality.

Anyone know who manufactures the OEM filter? Could be HiFlo(?) as they do OEM as well as aftermarket work.

Update 6th Dec - It's not Hiflo who manufactures the OEM unit as it's still not available.

Trust me, I'm with your for $$ savings, but at $37 (although insane in comparisons to a car filter) I'd rather stick to the OEM oil filter than run the risk of using some random no-name oil filter.

Just my $0.02.

And from what I found that aftermarket filter runs for $25-$30, for for $7-12 more I choose OEM.

I hear ya though- it'd be nice to see a broader (and cheaper) line of oil filters become available for this bike eventually.

Edit: I can't even find that filter "HF159" available to buy anywhere in the US at all.

Bike Alert in Atlanta GA is the NA distributor and show it in their latest, recently updated, catalogue. Will try contacting them tomorrow.

There is a lot going on with the factory filter, and it just isn't the place to cut cost, Ducati spent some energy developing that filter, from the weight saving aspect of it, to flow volume as well as filtration. Steve

Agree completely.
My main interest in exploring the aftermarket was not to save $$$ but to see what else was out there that may be of even higher quality than OEM. Don't believe the Hiflos I've purchased for the other bikes were any cheaper. It was the perceived quality of the piece that made me try it.

Heard back this morning from Bike Alert, distributor for the Hiflo oil filter and they informed that the HF 159 is a new product not yet available.
