Too bad I'm stuck with mine. But really the only difference now are the Ti rods and extra 500rpms :-/.

Ahhh...the first Tri rider to see past the gleam of the expensive paint job! ;)

I'm first in line with my dealer!!!! Cannot wait!!:D

Ha Ha, ya
My wife really likes the Tri for looks, but I explained to her that it is what's under the hood that gets my motor running.
I want the quickest, hardest excellerating bike that Ducati makes and I think this R will do the trick

And the lightened fly-wheels...AH says they are almost imperceptible. Says the R makes the S sound like a tractor motor. says it revs so easily.

When I was a kid....

I used to see my school pals going to school on their BMXs and I used to be jealous as I never had one and my parents couldn`t afford to buy me one.

Now I have worked for it and I have a lovely house, brilliant Wife and two amazing young sons plus I can still afford to have/run a motorcycle.

But I would so so so so love to have a Panigale R.

I am jealous but I say good luck if you are getting one.

just got word mine arrives next week!

so the build project is on target
the paintjob will be done by the Alstare team painter

happy happy happy... :)

guess not, nor did i read every post

Ducati invited him to avoid litigation when his Panigale burned both of his legs completely off above the knee. They fitted him with some DP prosthetic legs (matte finish) and invited him to the event so his lawyers wouldn't bankrupt Ducati/Audi.

Unfortunately for him DP Prosthetics works much like their Moto division so in 5 months an R version of his legs will come out and these will include 5 toes in each foot instead of 4.

Is he sticking out his knee like that because the bike is burning his leg?

After reading MCN's artice...

I find it comical that a person who's job is to ride and review the top sportbikes on earth says this in his article... "it has much more in its reserves than I’ve got talent to uncover"

Ok, I'm back. Barely had a second to spare over the past few days. Exhausted and beat, but still grinning from one side of my brain to the other. Nothing new to those not on twitter, but here's a few photos of me on the R at the Circuit.

I'll have a full report of the entire even (not just my impressions of the bike) as soon as I can wrap my head around it all.

Ducati went out of their way to make sure my experience was unforgettable, ensuring I spent no small amount of time with Nicky and Ben. But the true highlight (aside from being on the best track in America on the best bike in America) was the time I spent with the men of Ducati. What an amazing group of guys (and you, too, Kat and Claudia!).

No. Not imperceptible. Extremely perceptible! Make no mistake, the R motor revs with a ferocity and speed that required a major change in me timing shifts. Even though it revs 500 RPM higher, I was bouncing off the rev limiter thinking I was only at 9k rpm. I'd look down and the tach was buried. Shift again and almost instantaneously I'd be bouncing off the rev limiter again. I hate to say the S motor feels tractor-like, because it's definitely not at all tractor like. But the R motor revs so freely and lightly that, as unreal as it sounds, the S motor does feel sluggish in comparison. The lightened flywheel and Ti Conrods make a significant difference.
