Finally got my standard 1199 on Friday.. and loving it since!

The dealer didn't care much about the break-in rules and said drive it
like you'd nomally would in the streets and keep the rear wheel on ground. Suspension came pre-adjusted to Progressive (P) setting. I asked about getting it dyno'ed and he mentioned that best results will be after engine break in, which is around 1000 miles. Not after the first service!

It ended up being $19700 otd, it is all stock.. comfort seat and 3M protection kit on order.

Pros
- power deliver, initially had it set on sport mode, but then changed to race mode with DTC set to 5. I preferred the instant power deliver more the smooth option.
- this thing sounds amazing! It ROARS when you give it motivation with the throttle, especially after around 7k rpms (couldn't help myself from breaking the break-in rules)
- very easy to handle
- love the design and appearance, I find myself staring at it at times
- bumps and potholes are manageable with suspension set on P
- Quickshifter and the pop with it are great, no false neutrals yet
- keep wanting to get back on it :)

Cons
- HEAT!!! It is quite noticeable with jeans, and Definitely can't ride it with shorts (I got some light burns on both thighs after only a 20 min ride)
- Stock seat is HARD! Ordered a comfort seat already..
- It's probably me, but I'm having real difficulty getting the the gear into Neutral. Hopefully this will change once I get a better feel of the shifter.

Here's a video of start up and walk around -

More to come as I ride it more!

Nice man. Mine's sitting at the dealership right now waiting for me to get back to pick it up, ugh.

Sweet bike congrats

Thanks!

cant wait for my turn!! 2 more weeks!! congrats dude!!

Thx! It'll be worth it!

Welcome to the addiction! Congrats on your bike!

Thanks!

You'll find neutral easily....eventually.

Yeah i thought so too..

And you will get used to the heat, eventually. Thats how I knew it was your first Ducati. Riding in short and flip flops is pretty insane idea anyway.

Lol.. Agreed! Flipflops werent on when i went riding and wont be wearing the shorts anymore after i got little burns.. Sticking to my full gear now!

Congrats. Make sure to check the front brake reservoir hose as it tends to rub on the reservoir mounting screw.

Congrats.

I've has mine almost a month and I still stare at it anytime I go into my garage. They are beautiful bikes.

I have trouble finding neutral as well. I usually flip it up into 2nd and then just tap it down into neutral.

Got mine on Friday as well! Followed break-in rules for about 50km before caving in.

Got it at noon on Friday, 400km at 22h00. Had to work Saturday, only 75 km on an evening ride. Celebrated Fathersday by riding, 815km on the clock now.

No issues at all, just plain fun!

Happy trails!

Thats for the info, will look into that further.

Yep, I've done that on few occasions, but it is easier to get into neutral as I'm getting the feel of the gearshifter.

Awesome! I've been putting miles on it slowly, hopefully more once my comfort seat gets here..

Congrats ! Good for you! Ride Safe!

Thanks!

After more riding, the excessive heat sensation is dampening. Did run into false neutral between 4th to 5th while I was upshifting at higher rpms, and I did manage to red line it. I'll just have to make sure I shift it hard enough.. Despite all, Still just as fun to ride!
