Can a tubular frame even be wrapped?
There's a 939 floating around the internet with gold wheels and an OD green wrap that is absolutely amazing. I too was thinking about wrapping my 950 in a nice, dark green as that's what I wear at work and I like the color.
The biggest issue ive run into so far with that decision is that the OD green would look kind of stupid next to the red frame. It just doesnt match.
I hear you on the power thing. I'm kind of in the same boat. I think that most of the desire for power comes down to us wanting to feed our egos. I know that I dont need a 180 horsepower bike but I still want it. I know that a 180 horsepower bike is going to vastly exceed the speed limit, even in first gear but I still want it.
The hyper was an attempt to slow myself down a little and have a chance to "play" more with the bike itself. I find snicking through the gears because you have to far more rewarding than pretending to be a rocket ship. MY biggest issue is that I live in south Florida so finding chances to lean the bike over are rare. That straight line speed calls to me.
