I am seeing the pirelli SUPERCORSA TD tires are now out on the 200/60 size

has anyone tried them out on track ?

does anyone know if they would be a better option than the SP V3?

My feeling is that a single compound is better than multicompound especially for corner exits. Going from grippy edge to less grippy center makes me feel less confidence on throttle application. Especially with big power bikes ridden at pace. Consistency gives confidence whether it's brakes engine, suspension or tires. My opinion of course!!

Moto d

The news is that they appear in 200/60 sizes

but i guess they wont last long on the streets

the SP V3 last me like 4 months

I have a write up on these tires, I compare them to the SP's.
I went through 7 or so rear's of these (maybe more I used them for 1.5 seasons)
They are amazing tires for the track and track day focused rider.
They do have limits just like any other non-race compound.

If you want the best price contact Mike at MTAG.
I believe its $359 for a set, $210 for a rear tire.

I am not seeing the 200/60 TD available at any shops yet?

TD is a great tire, similar to an SC3 compound. I run TDs on my other bikes for occasional track days and canyon riding and tire warmers not needed with warm track conditions.

thanks man

cant find your write up

any link to it ?

thanks

This should help out

Got a TD in 200/60 today. Pics for comparison. The tread depth is deeper in the center. The tread grooves are less angled. Interestingly the sidewall says supercorsa sc and stamp says sc3. According to my supplier and the pirelli label it is indeed the TD.

They are much less expensive for the rear. But they are single compound so I don't think the SP V3(bi compound on the rear) is a comparable tire. This tire is for those wanting maximum grip while being street legal. The SP V3 I think is better suited for those spending more time upright and prefer longer tire life. I only manage about 1000 miles on the 200/55 TD before hitting the wear bar indicator. This bike has only done street miles(but mostly weekend twisties).

The front tires are not that different in pricing.

i am gonna give the td's a try i think. i only get about 1000 to 1200 miles out of the sp v3 , i am on my 4th set of them and every time i buy them the price has gone up. not to many choices in the 200/60/17 size unfortunately

Has anyone measured the roll out (circumference) of a new DT vs. a new SP?

Supervorsa’s would be great for a track day. They heat up well and offer the required grip.

I'll try to measure my TD circumference. I do have this picture showing the TD 200/60 making contact with my rear race stand from moto d racing.

Pirelli trackday 200/60 has a circumference installed of 83.25 inches (2114.5 mm). I don't have an sp v3 to compare. Maybe someone else has that information. Also, the tire does grow at speed. I came back after a ride and saw the tire made contact with my rear tire hugger. At rest it has maybe a centimeter gap. I think i did about 170mph at some point.

Yeah it looked tall

That’s gonna require gearing change as well as a lot of suspension tuning

Thanks : )

the super corsa v3 in 200/60/17 is 688 in diameter and rolling circumference is 2029 +/- 2% which is 79.8 inches

trackside tires claims the 200/ 60 track day is 670 or 26.37 inches in diameter.
