Me too... minus wife. She gets her own bike.

Not sure I trust my wife to ride... She wants to but I said she needs to learn in the dirt first. It was also a way to nudge her into thinking another bike is a good idea.:)

Ya I hear ya, my wife wanted her own so we started with a scooter now she has a ninja 250...... Now for the spring she wants a Monster 796, worst case I ride it once in awhile:) I didn't think she could handle it at first but honestly she has more than surprised me

I do think it would be great if my wife did ride so we could take off and enjoy riding together.

Kevin- how long did it take your wife to go from scooter to 250 and now Monster?

We are looking for her first bike now, so after she completes the MSF course we'll get one. She wants the sportbike look, so it's really cut the field down to only a few. The ninja is one of them. I want to get something that can get up to speed on the highway, but not too much low-end torque, if you know what I mean.

Track schools, great place to learn! My wife did 7 trackdays with me this year on her RSV4. She obviously doesnt push as hard as I do but it is fun chasing her around.

It was about a month or two on the scooter then the 250 about a season and a half. She was ready last year for the upgrade for the monster, but wanted to wait for the 20th anniversary. She did a women's only school at Spokane raceway on the 250 and it really helped out. I've asked her if she thought about starting in the 250 instead of the scooter, but since she had never driven a manual car before she thought that the scooter was a great way to get the basics without overloading her. When we did get her the 250, spent about a day working on her starting, shifting stopping, etc..... After that day she was on her own progressing each day, had only one small slip up where she came to a fast stop while in 2nd and forget the pull in the clutch. She did dump it but I had just put frame sliders on it so I'll call that a win, that was on her 3rd day.

Ya the big complaint with the 250 was on the highway it felt like it was going to fall apart, her words. Also that had no power down below and she had to shift alot, which is good since it worked on her skills. I've been told that the new ninja 300 is a way better bike. We looked at the cbr 250 and she felt the same way.

popped by Ducati Bellevue yesterday and I believe on June 10th they are goin to put on a Womens only track day, or at least a womens only session. Try and help get newer riders more comfortable, thought it sounded like a good idea so I'm throwing it out there

New guy here just checking in. Just traded my 2013 848 evo for a 2014 899.

Hey Ikon! Congrats on the new ride!

How do you like it compared to the 848?

The 848 was fun but wasn't comfortable. My arms were a bit more stretch out and it was more narrower. The 1199 and 899 was comfy from the get go. I was looking at the 1199s but the 899 was more suitable for the street and occasional track days.

Sounds like my ergo issues with the 1098 Tricolore. Congrats on the new bike!

Had the 1199 R out on the Ducati Only track day - out on the Ridge. First time with this bike on the track and first time on that track. Was a blast!!

Nice! Wish I could have been there. I've never rode that track myself but it looks like a fun track.

Hey FLO it's WMRRA's last race weekend this sat-sun. Come on out and do the lunch ride. I'll be there on Sunday.
