Pressure plate question

I recently swapped out my 1299 pressure plate with a ducabike one. I just noticed that the stock pressure plate has 3 metal snap rings at the base where the springs sits on. In ducabike's instruction it did not call for the rings to be used from the stock pressure plate, only thing it called for were the center pin with the bearing.

Are those snap rings really not needed for ducabike pressure plate? What are those rings used for in the stock set up? Right now they don't seem to serve a real purpose typically called out for snap rings. Rather, they seem to be used as spacers...

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi - I just did the same swap. The rings are there so that the springs don't chew into the aluminium. I had it all fitted up and realised I hadn't fitted the rings.
I pulled it all apart and fitting the rings.
Remember, you don't want debris in the oil from any wear.
