Problem after changing the the sprockets and chain

I´ve recently changed the whole sprocket kit in my SFV2 -22 (I asked a workshop to do the job).
The main differense now is that the front sprocket is a size smaller (one notch less). Otherwise the back and the chain is the same.
Yesterday i took the first longer ride after the change, and the bike is running great and feeling smoother with the smaller front sprocket. However, there are three things that have occurred with the bike after the package replacement that I've never experienced before:

  1. Sometimes the quickshifter stops working when downshifting. I can still manually downshift, and after a short while, everything works normally again.
  2. Occasionally, the gear indicator (the one displaying the current gear on the display) shows a hyphen and two lamps with an exclamation mark and an 'N' start blinking. The bike can still be ridden, and it shifts and runs as usual.
  3. Shortly before I got home yesterday, about 1 mile away, the engine warning light came on. Maybe related to the above issues? I turned off the bike for a while to check if the light would go off, but it didn't. Otherwise, I didn't notice any difference in idling or engine sound.
As I mentioned, the bike is running well, and I don't hear any unusual noises or other issues. Since the package replacement, I've ridden around 15-20 miles, no more than that.

Today I did the "Tire calibration". But incredibly frustrated, I'm back home. In the calibration, I'm supposed to ride at 48-52 km/h in second gear. Almost every time, I stayed within that speed range, but still, it said 'failed.' I've been out for over an hour just trying to calibrate, but I failed constantly!
Maybe the reason I failed the calibration is that I didn't ride at all within the 48-52 km/h range as indicated on the display?

I have contact with the workshop and feel confident that he is going to help me, and we are going to talk to each other on Monday, but I need to know if some of you have experienced that same issue?

I just swapped my front sprocket the same as you and I have exactly the same issues showing on the dash.
Did you manage to get the problem sorted?
The way the bike rides now is so much better so I don't really want to put the original sprocket back on.

When I discussed gearing changes with @DeussenEngines at the time I was ordering a tune from him, he advised against going -1 on the front, because the programming can only handle up to +2 on the rear. At the time he didn't have a solution. Perhaps meanwhile he has found a way to overcome this limit. May be worth checking with him.
 
Thank you for replying - going to go +2 on the rear and put the 15t original front back on.
Way too many people have reported issues on newer bikes.

You won't be able to make tire calibration with +2 on rear, but bikes works fine.
I went from 45 to 47 now to 46 (+1).

Go to a ducati dealer or buy an obdstar iscan and do a reset drive adaptive system and is going to be fixed
 
No it's not 14T sprocket won't work unless you speak with Daniel Deussen and get his remap (which I highly recommend).
 
With the front sprocket change the behavior you get is normal. The only way to fix it is by getting an ECU reflash.

He cannot help you. You need to reset drive adaptive system is written in your ducati manual. Go to a dealer or buy an scanner that can do it
 
Go to a ducati dealer and ask him to reset it. Will cost you 20 euro. Kom op jonge man
I have read further in this forum that a dealer cannot do this, it concerns a Euro5 standard problem, you really have to rewrite the ECU, dealers do not do that. According to Deussen.
 
I had the same problem - the only way to resolve this mechanically is to put the 15t front sprocket back on the bike and change the rear sprocket to a 45t which is +2. Changing the electronics to cheat the ECU is two wrongs to make a right and will almost certainly cause you or the next owner problems in the future.

On the euro 4 V4's you can use an OBDstar or equivalent and reset the transmission adaptives (labeled as such in the ECU special functions) followed by running a calibration cycle which recalibrates the DQS so it works again on downshifts. So with the euro 5's this is no longer possible?

No it is not - it alters what the ECU sees in terms of engine speed v tyre speed. Even doing the tyre calibration it might work for a while but then throw up errors on the dash. In addition it is virtually guaranteed to cause an issue with the quick shifter. There will always be a small number of guys who say that a 14t worked fine but having done a lot of research on this - you need a dealer to re-flash the ECU or spend a fortune on the device to remap yourself. If you still want to buy a 14t sprocket I have one for sale with about 10 miles of use. I tried it for myself to prove a point.

I think you are completely right, but you do think that if you flash the Ecu that it should work? And if so where or what should be adjusted...I have seen that exhaust servo and pair valve can be turned off but nothing concerns this?

What ever you do to the ECU is not going to fix the fact that the engine was designed for use with a 15t front sprocket. They put the same engine in the V2 Streetfighter but fitted it with a 45t rear sprocket as standard. So the V2 being more track focused was fitted with a 43t rear - if you are looking to make your V2 more street friendly (usable around town) then do as I did and change the rear to a 45t. I think it rides way better, acceleration is improved at the loss of some top speed.
