Hi Vast. Here is the gear I plucked from the Panigale. The water-pump gear was OK, and there is no trace of any wear or odd stuff on the primary gear. It looks like just a crappy gear with air bubbles in the moulding process. I hope so. I've checked the two other Panigales I prepare, and they were OK.

Edit: The shiny thing you see under the gear is just a bolt I used to lift it up for a better view. :p

Exactly the same issue as we had, two times now. No visible damage on any other gears, only on this smaller drive gear. We have the third one in now, so fingers crossed... :)

Must be some kind of manufacturing fault, or quality issue with the plastic.

I talked to my (now former, due to career change) Ducati tech, he said:

The reason they are plastic is where they WILL break in a situation where everything locks... If they were metal and everything locked there would be no"give" and the engine case would bust.

Centeroff last logged in Apr 2020. why do you keep resurrecting old posts? Completely run out of new threads to destroy?

He was talking about slowing down rate at which the coolant flows and being that I will be experimenting with the same I had some questions for him

Or maybe you have experience with this???

Unless you have Scottish heritage like myself then share your up kilt photos.

Ha unfortunately not, it’s a nice floral print I found in the wife’s closet. Nobody wants to see that but it sure was comfortable.

Who doesn’t love a sexy skirt but back to the point at hand -

Pump gears coming apart

Flow rate

Is there anyone here doing anything custom anymore or if it don’t come in a ducabike clear clutch cover box forget about it?
