Question for 1199 SL owners

In my experience seems to be more of an issue when new so you don't burn fingerprints in. Seems like a non issue after it heat cycles for the most part

The motocorse are 75mm looks like. How much would that affect the tuning over the race exhaust it comes with?

You have to properly tune the bike with any of these exhausts. I know that we had to tune mine a lot on the dyno -that's how I know how much more hp it makes over the stock map with the stock race exhaust, then the tuned map with the stock race exhaust (the only exhaust I never had on there was the base exhaust the SL was delivered with). Anyways, it's definitely not plug and play. It has to be tuned.

I was under the assumption that you shouldn't touch the titanium pipes with your bare hands as it can affect the (dis)coloration of the pipes. Is that just a myth? Does it not apply in this case since it's already had a heat cycle? Or what's up and down in regards to that?

I have no idea, to be honest. It would seem like a non issues once it gets a few heat cycles and miles but I've honestly never heard of that.

When you install new pipes whether it be chrome stainless or Ti you want to wipe them down with denatured alcohol to degrease them before first start up. Yes the oils from your fingers will leave marks.

I still love the color of this SL... Does anyone have a paint code that's close to it ?
