You did the right thing I wanted that bike also congratulations
Nice dude, you picking up the SL from Rosso? It's a damn good deal that I've had my eye on for a bit now. If I hadn't gotten my new 1299S a few months back I would've gotten this instead in a heartbeat.
That's the one!
Congrats mate it's a beautiful thing. When I saw it on ebay all I could think of was why does everything in Australia need to be so much more expensive? A lightly used 16R is almost that price. It's not like the USA is right next door to Italy
Somehow I think you'll enjoy that thing.
I think I've mentioned it before, but in Denmark a 1299 SL is about $235,000
USD, not AUD.
Do you want me to send you one from the USA so you can flip it?
Even if you were able to legally bring it in, it would have the issue with import tax and duties and it would end up being more than $235k by the time all was said and done. The bikes don't cost that much in various countries by accident.

Is the air really clean there [emoji848]Haha. Wouldn't that be something.
Unfortunately, it is, of course, as Sherpa mentions, the taxes that get ya.
Thankfully I don't live there anymore. I recently spent 2 years working in New York, currently working out of Lima, Peru, but will be relocating to Los Angeles over the course of 2018.
I will be looking to pick up a 1299 SA once I get settled.
I believe Denmark have been lowering the taxes on vehicles slightly the past few years, but when I lived there it was 25% sales tax (only paid when purchased new - then essentially becomes a part of the cars value) and then comes 180% in "registration tax". So any vehicle you purchase you essentially have to pay for the vehicle itself - and then pay for it two more times to legally drive it on the road.
Did you pull the trigger, yet [emoji848]How many miles have you and any major issues? Thinking of pulling the trigger on a used 2014.
The thing for me... I have a 2015 1299 S...and I'm seriously considering getting an 1199 SL. It is a dream machine. Do you dream about the current machines you have (or did you dream, at least)? Or were they well planned, and timing was right?Ok guys....would you trade your 1199s AND a 2016 ninja H2 for a 2014 superleggera? Cause logistically that's the only way my finances would allow. The superleggera has long been my dream bike and now it us within reach, but not sure if giving up 2 bikes for it is stupid on my part. I have the fever and am not thinking straight...need help lol
