Questions to those who wear Full Leathers on Street

Essentials under rear cowl or bum bag for town riding, I also have a zero gravity bag for longer day trips.

Dress for the slide, not the ride!!!!!!

So I have a two piece setup (RS Taichi perforated leather jacket, Vanson perforated technical pant) that I took to a leatherworker to add a heavy duty, high quality zipper so they can be attached to one another.

This setup works great.

The jacket has all the features I want, as to the pants, and the jacket also has pockets that will hold my keys, wallet, cell phone (Nexus 5, i.e. decent size) etc. Being zipped together I have all the security/safety of a one piece, but with the obvious advantage of being able to take my jacket off (or occasionally decide to not wear the leather pants).

I also use an amaaaaaazing wallet - "Slim Fold Micro" which is a wallet made of Tyvek (the sturdy stuff of FedEx envelopes). This keeps my wallet at almost 50% the thickness of what it would otherwise be.

I have to say that Maxpedition femur bag looks pretty sweet for days when I need to haul "stuff" for whatever reason, and is probably more comfortable than a backpack or fanny pack.
EDIT: This bag looks even more practical, and has a lower profile. I might get one and report back on it:

ThinkGeek :: Grab-It Pack Gadget Holster

Wow, that one is really roomy. I went with the one below and will report back as well. The other cheap eBay one worked fine for a while, but I knew it was pretty poor quality so wouldn't be dependable in the long run. I'm actually surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Miscellaneous Soft : LEG / WALLET BAG

I might try this one too..

Waterproof Series : WATERPROOF LEG BAG

In my leathers:
Wallet & registration

On my back:
Camelbak Linchpin with Gatorade, cellphone, my HK and whatever misc stuff I want on a long ride.

To keep cool I stay hydrated and just dump water down the inside front of my leathers. They're perforated and dry fast enough. At speed it feels like air conditioning. I ride year-round in a A* perf'd race suit that's rashed up from a few lowsides on the track, so I don't care about keeping it pretty. If it stinks, febreeze.

I found a perfect solution

Me being a quintessential geek and all, I spend time on thinkgeek occasionally looking for god-knows-what-but-i'll-know-it-when-I-find it. Well I found it:
ThinkGeek :: Grab-It Pack Gadget Holster

I have NO idea what someone would use this for outside of our context, but on top of leathers it is absolutely perfect. I bought the "deluxe" right-leg version because it is ballistic nylon and therefore likely to survive a crash.

There a few things to note here, however:
  1. The waist strap is obscenely long (to the point of annoying)
  2. The thigh strap is not long enough... it should be OK for most people, I figure, but I'm kind of a burly beast at 6'0 250 and my thunder thighs could not be contained even when the strap was fully extended.
  3. Most importantly, the buckles are on the wrong side! That is to say, they are on the inner thigh (where they could scratch the tank/body work) and not on the outside.
These things were easily remedied by my favorite local leather repair shop:
  1. Waist strap was cut and shortened about a foot and folded over and sewn strong (so as not to fray in the wind)
  2. Thigh strap was replaced with a 3" longer nylon strap
  3. Straps were swapped left/right so buckles were on the outside

The result is the most functional, unobtrusive, and convenient baggage accessory I've ever owned:

Note that most of you can probably just get away with buying the holster for the opposite leg you intend to use it on so that you don't have to reverse the straps, assuming you don't mind the cellphone pocket being in the back and not in the front (I think that'd be annoying and hard to reach, but who knows)

Hoping to pick up one of these real soon.

Ducati Corse 14' Leather Racing Suit 9810211

I have always liked the branded gear. I have a Ducati dainese Mechanica jacket and some black ducati badged dainese pelle pants and also a Rossi replica jacket... but was at the track the other day and saw a guy with a HP4 Comp and he had the two piece BMW suit, BMW boots and a BMW helmet.

for the first time I thought that is too much. I was keen on a set of the full ducati Corse leathers but now maybe not so much

just my 2 cents
