Hey guys
just got back from another trip up to ashville.
had a blast however the stock seat hurts over time. 6+hours

does anyone have the comfort seat? and does it make a difference.?

i have read on this forum that for taller people it puts more pressure on your wrists is this true?

i am 6'

I recently got the comfort seat and can confirm it is definitely more comfortable than the stock seat. I am 6'1, but doesn't matter which seat you put on, if you don't have proper posture your wrists will hurt given the aggressive seating position of the pani.

Many discussions of this on here if you search.

It's generally recommended that the seat from the 899 is best, I think...

I wouldn't know, as I got the race seat - it's a race bike after all - and it has had the effect of being a) less slippy b) taller - i'm also 6' and it's still ok, but my legs are fully straight and can flat footing both feet, just c) more comfortable in the sense that my nuts don't seem to take the same pounding on the tank d) no more uncomfortable on my wrists, but I've done enough mileage for this not to be an issue for me anymore

The stock seat exists only to give the bike a low seat heat spec so that midget magazine editors won't have a hissy fit.

The comfort seat is more comfortable, and will get you up a little higher where you should be. Wrist pain is the same. Not as bad as other bikes IME, especially other Ducati SBK's. And you'll slide around way less. Also look for Stompgrips. The race seat is a nice option as well. Get both?!?

The stock seat was killing me, so I bought the comfort seat. Significant improvement. I was doing 11 hour days a few months ago without issue.

Seats

IMHO using the Comfort Seat instead of stock doesnt make that much of a true difference on ones wrists as most say it does (as stated, my opinion only!) and I use it on longer rides (when and if I even do ride) and without any doubt it makes a HUGE difference on your ass when it comes for the ride!

I took my stock seat and sent it up to Luimoto to have Gel Pads installed and the Italian seat cover applied to it, which did make a difference to the stock seat as far as comfort goes. Thats always a choice for ya and they have many more choices out now too when it comes to covers - the Red R model seat it killer and Id love to switch it out with the first one they offered but just can't justify the expense when i don't even ride the bike!

Tried to attach some pics of them here but not sure they show them at their best - if you ride alot of these long rides you spoke about I would most definitely obtain one for yourself buddy! Many are even posted for sale here too so go for it man! You will be happy you did in long run! :D
