Hi guys just come back from a ride on my 2018 v4s .Issue yellow warning light and when I shut the throttle the bike surges forward ( bit unnerving going into corners ). Local dealer plugged it in and the auto blipper micro switch has a voltage error . ( Bike thinks someone is standing on the down shifter) told this is going to cost £500 upwards. Bike out of warranty ,is this right?

Don’t know if the diagnosis is correct but the repair cost sounds just like Ducati. Welcome to the brand

Thanks mate seems What he did was ok way he'd him in the workshop but I have seen the part (from Ducati micro fisch) and supplied from Germany for around£80

Yes I would always try and get the part somewhere else. The Ducati markup is on a whole different level

Yeah thats the problem stock shift sensor, micro switch= garbage. Replace with a TL unit best bang for the price or spend little more get a strain gauge unit such as Cordona problem solved.

If youre interested I can price out a Cordona for you. Just not sure whether my North American distributor would drop ship it to you. When I order them for customer from my North American distributor located up in Canada. They are shipped from Sweden. I am assuming since you are in Wales you dont pay a VAT tax anymore.

afaik the Translogic uses also Strain gauges.
there is more than one way to become a member of the Church of the Holy Strain Gauge.

Incorrect. The Translogic QS for the Ducati is not a strain gauge. It is a micro switch. I have had 3 of these units and can absolutely verify that there is physical movement in the unit with a very noticeable engagement/disengagement

This is a physical on/off micro switch. Not a strain device

Translogic is not strain gauge its a micro switch man think you need to do little more research on that. I am guessing your still using the stock shift sensor?

i found that:
"Die Translogic Quickshifter Sensoren werden permanent im Werk getestet und durchlaufen einen mehrstufigen KalibrierungsProzess mit in-house 'state-of-the-art' DMS-Technologie bei einer geregelten Raumtemperatur von 22°C. Dadurch brauchen Sie die Sensoren nie mehr nachjustieren oder die Einstellungen anzupassen. "
what means:
"Translogic Quickshifter sensors are permanently tested at the factory and undergo a multi-stage calibration process with in-house state-of-the-art strain gauge technology at a controlled room temperature of 22°C. This means that you never need to readjust or adjust the sensors again. This means you never need to readjust the sensors or adjust the settings."

Explain to everyone here how the TL sensors are a true strain guage unit? Have you ran the older revs, current revs and a strain guage unit such as a Cordona, Tuneboy, HM or a Woolich?

Thanks mate appreciate that. I believe they have updated the part now though , 88 euro from Germany is the cheapest at the moment

No mate still pay 20%vat on parts and on import duty unless marked up as a gift ,I think. If you could send details of the link in Sweden I would appreciate that , cheers

Mick, i do not understand. i showed my source already.
if you think that's a lie, explain why and point to a source.

I think that just states that they are tested and calibrated using strain gauge tech.

what the...ive read just strain gauge in that marketing .........
i'm sorry, thanks for clarification.

Chris, Translogic does or did make a strain gauge QS or at least put their logo on one but they don’t make a strain gauge QC, plug and play for the Ducati. Their branded strain gauge unit was/is a race only item for use on programmable systems (Motec MM) from what I have seen.
