Quick shifter up and down

After using the normal clutch from neutral/stand still into first, you can use the quick shifter to go up and down the gears. Be firm with it.
I even use it coming down into first and to a stop, it's the best thing on the 1299 IMH

What should I do with the gas to select another gear using the quick shifter, to go up and down?
 
the quickshfter is basically a clutchless shift. still actuated with your foot.

I think I read a thread a while ago where the op thought the buttons on the handle bar shifted the bike.

You mean they don't ? Must be the volume control for the entertainment system
 
199 miles on mine and I am SOOOOOO excited to try this!
On a side note... three weeks owning this bike now and i still find myself peeking in the garage before bed just to admire this thing. Gorgeous bike
 
Apparently there is a voice command quick shift option as well. When riding, yell "UP!" to execute an up-shift, and "DOWN!" to execute a downshift. When at a light, if the bike hears, "DAMN IT!" it assumes you're unable to find neutral again, so it by default shifts into neutral at that point.

If you give this a whirl, please take your GoPro along and post a video afterwards.
 
It takes no time to get used to it. It's one of those things that once you've tried it you can live without it.
