Do you need to roll off when using the quickshifter, if im open throttle sometimes hit neutral going 1-2 even with a positive kick up.

Also if im low down say 4-5K and use the quickshifter it doesn't like going from 5 gear to 6 gear either.

1199S only has 8K Kms, change oil regularly 10w-40 full ester synthetic.

No. don't do that. the sensor needs a "locking force" of 7-8kg to detect the shift.
if the engine load is below that, the quickshifter is not working.
use the clutch until the failure is repaired.

No. Should make no difference. Back off or hard on throttle mine works fine. The whole idea of a quick shifter is not to back off the throttle. Hence the name. The only time I hit neutral between 1 and 2 is when I have been lazy with the shift. There is definitely more travel for the the lever between first and second so you have to be a little more positive. BTW fitting TB allows you to set the time for the fuel cut. Mine is set at half the normal time. It is noticeable when you first have it done. A great advantage of TB.

With the full Evo on my 1299S, If I’m really on the throttle and keep it that way as I shift up, it sounds like a shotgun going off when the shift happens. It scares any cars next to me. But if it’s light throttle then no shotgun sound.

Can melcodiag diagnose the quickshifter.

Asked a local Ducati dealer they want $500 for the module plus fitting.

That cost is getting into autoblipper territory!

I also get a loud pop (termis) at higher rev range (great in tunnels although as another said scares the tripe out of those in vicinity)

Check your linkages especially if you have adjusted them, you want them to be at 90 to the throw as much as possible. I use GP so its just pin it and stab, the V4 has a much better QS setup btw so I imagine the 1199 being a few generations earlier is just a bit less refined.

Also should I hear a exhaust pop when using the quick shifter?? I don't hear anything its just a hard shift to the next gear.
Hey mate,
With the 1299S I had, on stock exhaust I never had pop when up shifting. After I installed a full Vandemon and tuneboy, sounded like a shot gun on up shifts + some flames out the exhaust

Halo
When I had only the stock exhaust on for the first two years, I never heard a pop. It was only after I fitted the unrestricted Akra full system that I could clearly hear the pop. The poping sound is just unburnt fuel exploding in the muffler. ( I know you know that) If your ignition is not being cut by the QS you will not get that unburnt fuel exploding. I don't know what exhaust you have but to me it is sounding like your QS module on the rod needs to be looked at. It happened to mine in the first year of ownership and it was definitely a problem for early 1199. Mine is 2012. They did not change my module they just re calibrated or re flashed it and there has never been a problem since. My problem was slightly different to yours though as it was stopping the bike starting as the module had it the sensor believing it was in gear.
