She finally made it. Hope to get her outfitted by Sunday's track day.

Does anyone know what the R actually comes with? The Ducati website isn't all that helpful.

Spoke directly to a salesman received one already.
All you get is the manual two keys the block off plates and another windscreen.

Kind of regretting my decision a little now

It is true that the R comes with less than previous years but the engine is gonna be a stunner!

From my source, the engine is other worldly. Wait until someone on a 1299 pulls up on one and gets left......

im gonna take a look at the new R when it comes to my local dealer (god knows when....) and if i like it i might trade in mine for new R

Over the S it has CF heel guards, CF rear fender, CF exhaust heat shield, the tall windscreen, DDA, mirror block off plates, and a "mostly" titanium exhaust. Then there's the engine, it also has the engine.

That's what I thought. I had to look at many internet pics and was hoping that I didn't miss anything. I was hoping for the swing arm cover and race seat too.

It has essentially the same engine as the SL... a real screamer!!! :D

;)

Sounds like it comes with regrets too. Do I smell a part out? lol ;)

I really should hold judgement before I comment. Apparently this bikes motor is the ...., so I'll wait and see....

Just at face-value it kills me- ducati gives you less carbon, no led headlights, no extra seat, no race exhaust, no evo mapping, yet the price goes up 10%... The bike must truly ride like an SL. At which point should it I absolutely wont regret a thing!

No more parting out!

They've changed the wording in this section about 5 times over the last 5 months. The part where it says "covers" is new within the last two weeks. That may mean the swingarm cover is included. I hope so.

It is my understanding that the 1299 and 1199R make identical HP. The R has internals that spin up a little faster and the exhaust...but the 1299 has 100 more cc's (like they say, there is no replacement for displacement :D).

When you consider all of the other variables that go into acceleration (rider size, weight, ability to get into a tuck, RPM's, tires, gearing, available grip, setup/geometry, so on and so forth)...if somebody on a 1299 "gets left" by somebody on an 1199R, that says more about the ability (or lack thereof) of the rider on the 1299, than it does about the capabilities of the 1199R.

There is also the 14 lbs. that the 1299 is carrying. I think my description (left behind) was just a play on words per se.

Ah I see :)

I am looking forward to seeing how light I can get my 1299S, while keeping it SS legal. Even though it is already really light, there are still improvements that can be made.

Full Akra exhaust
Lightweight battery
Titanium bolts
Cut rear rotor
520 chain/sprockets

Those things will drop about 20lbs off of it.

And Catalyst makes some lightweight race bodywork (40% lighter than standard race bodywork).
