Yea...that's what the dealer is discussing with Ducati at their meeting in Mexico. He's not happy about it either. It is modified, but nothing that would have led to this failure. DNA's response was:
"After the review with my colleagues It is clear that the photos and description of the motorcycle clearly indicate that this is a dedicated track day bike with race fairings, slicks, missing AIS, highly modified (Boulder Motorsports Tuned ECU, Febur etc.) and thus, outside the limits of warranty coverage. This diagnostic time and repair will be considered customer pay."
I suggested that for that amount of $ I should probably consider legal representation but they said they're not denying it b/c of the mods...but rather simply b/c it's a track-only bike and therefore by default not covered.
Ehh...we'll see-
I'm not sure if it reads that they're denying bc of it being track only instead of having mods because they clearly stated a few mods to the bike. I think that if the mods were a moot point, they wouldn't have mentioned it.
I think they're saying bc you modded + tracked your bike = void of warranty, which really sucks
