What race fairings do you guys recommend?

I’m looking for something that I can essentially clip up to the existing front subframe that allows for the headlights to stay in place etc.

ehhhh the two primary reasons to get race glass is a) quick release fasteners holding on fewer pieces and b) its repairable when you go down. The ducati fairings look like just unpainted OEM fairings which will be horrendous for race-track use. You need to be able to pop off a fully enclosed belly pan within a few seconds and take off the entire one piece nose and mid fairings in a few more seconds to get to components underneath between sessions/races if you need to. If you are going to sit there and dick around with the allen screws and nooks and crannies, you may as well as run OEM bodywork.

Look into motoxpricambi. They sell painted race fairings in whatever color scheme you want with dzus fasterners included. I don't like that they are multi-piece that's the downside of them compared to true race fairings. The right way to do this is to get sharkskinz or armor bodies and have it painted by svenson.

Do not buy from that company. Poor quality made in China. Good luck getting a refund when you get your product!!

Bikesplast fairings are awesome. If you buy a full set, they preinstall all the Dzus fasteners. The only thing you have to do is drill the holes for bolting it to the bike itself, which have premarked points and usually only 1-2 per piece. Very easy install. Their SBK tail leaves more room under the seat so you can fit telemetry devices in there.

I've seen MotoXP fairings. They are relatively cheap (in price) and fit very well. However, they are noticeably thinner than OEM and feel very brittle. They're good to go with for people who want painted street fairings, not sure I'd go with them for race ones though.

Thanks for posting that. With the Sharkskinz stuff do you have to use their front fairing stay and subframe?

Dzus fasteners are my one true love.

I did some homework and decided not to go with the FM Projects pipe. My wife rides periodically and she would like that hot pipe by her legs.

Never had any issues with heat from it actually. My wife used to ride pillion and never had heat issues even though she had to use the heel guard of the right rearset as a footrest. Bike is running well, haven't been able to make it out to the track for a long while because of work. Would like to get the Woolich tune when I get some spare cash so I can rest easy about fueling.

Yeah I love that pipe so much. Belissimoto installed one on a customers bike few months ago and I finally got a sound clip.

not many people have or post photos of that system.

It's not popular because it's a track-only system. FM doesn't provide anything for mounting a plate/turn signals. I got lucky and have a skilled cousin who lived down the street, together we fabricated a plate mounting system and I already had the NRC turn signals. The average person spending thousands on a titanium exhaust isn't interested in having to fabricate their own solutions to license plate mounting.

In general, you do not have to get race subframes and sharkskins will work with OEM subframes. You should confirm if that's also true with their ducati V4 product. Headlight and OE front subframe removal is a fairly involved process and you wouldn't want to do that every trackday unless its a one way trip. For the V4, it seems from the link you posted that Sharkskinz is also doing separate uppers for left and right and not a true one piece that is integrated with the nose. If that's the case, the motoxpricambi stuff is good value as it costs the same as unpainted sharkskinz for a full paint and decal job included.

Getting race subframes is recommended if you are doing a full race bike conversion and removing all unnecessary weight. Race sub-frames are much lighter. However, they are not as durable and wont hold up in a crash as well as the OEM steel subframes will. Take a look at the motoholders rear subframe on my 848 after a crash - bent upwards and took the pipe with it. Was easily fixed and I was racing again same day, but the durability is the trade-off you make.

Oh damn. My buddy has an 848 and is dealing with motoxpricambi state toting to get a refund. They don’t respond to his emails and are ghosting him. Fortunately, he bought the fairings with his credit card and their doing the fighting now.

A guy I bought my arrow slip on has OEM Ducati race fairings for my20’ v4 I’m thinking about buying them when I decide to track my $30k bike lol

I have read up on swapping out the subframe. I have two little ones right now so not much personal time, plan is to get an 09-14 r6 to track. Something little low cost that wouldn’t be such a burden.
