Race fairings

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I purchased the set from Ducati Omaha and found stock lowers on Ebay. Bike is stock other than spring rates for my fat ass and a throttle housing that eliminates the slop. I ride 75% track and 25% street. The set comes with a headlight and taillight plug (false mold). There's also a connector so your mechanic doesn't have to clear the taillight faults when they hook her up to the computer. My tail light got cracked by a rock on the very first trackday. I'm not concerned about weigh because I don't race. Francesca doesn't need more power because she has a wonderful appetite for rear tires. It comes down to the tire of riding you intend to do. Hope this helps.

Oh damn. My buddy has an 848 and is dealing with motoxpricambi state toting to get a refund. They don’t respond to his emails and are ghosting him. Fortunately, he bought the fairings with his credit card and their doing the fighting now.

A guy I bought my arrow slip on has OEM Ducati race fairings for my20’ v4 I’m thinking about buying them when I decide to track my $30k bike lol
If you have not tracked your V4 why are you so actively posting in a race fairings thread? Lol

I wanted a minimal solution to pass race tech inspection (a one-piece belly pan that holds fluids) so got the Lavatex race lower for Akro, and with just a minor bit of trimming, it fit up to the rest of my OEM bodywork. That worked well for my needs. But, I just had a lowside recently and damaged my OEM bodywork (cracked tabs, pulverized tail cowl, etc.), so I figured it was time to get with the program and order a full set. Having liked the belly pan, I ordered this:

Panigale V4R/S 2018-21 Lavatex Race Bodywork (Prepreg Basalt Fiber) - HotbodiesRacing.com

I'm actually stoked to have the wider body panels for better wind protection. I got a chance to ride a buddy's V4 with similar fairings and it was noticeably nicer than my thin '19 OEM bodywork. That said, I ordered this set 7 weeks ago and still have no delivery date. So in a scramble, I had to repair my OM bodywork with super glue and duct tape to make the last round (and it actually worked fine and doesn't look too shabby, haha.). Once I get the new stuff on, I'll report back as to how I like it.

ehhhh the two primary reasons to get race glass is a) quick release fasteners holding on fewer pieces and b) its repairable when you go down. The ducati fairings look like just unpainted OEM fairings which will be horrendous for race-track use. You need to be able to pop off a fully enclosed belly pan within a few seconds and take off the entire one piece nose and mid fairings in a few more seconds to get to components underneath between sessions/races if you need to. If you are going to sit there and dick around with the allen screws and nooks and crannies, you may as well as run OEM bodywork.

Look into motoxpricambi. They sell painted race fairings in whatever color scheme you want with dzus fasterners included. I don't like that they are multi-piece that's the downside of them compared to true race fairings. The right way to do this is to get sharkskinz or armor bodies and have it painted by svenson.

That’s exactly why I want them….do the shark skins or armor bodies fasten to the stock subframes and attachments?

Looking good on the bike!

I am not familiar with Lavatex, however, hotbodies used to be at the absolute bottom of the quality totem pole. Their fairings were poorly made and never held up. Their customer service is also poor - I ordered caliper cooling ducts for my Kramer from them and I had a similar experience - they went dark for 2+ months and I had to file a dispute to get my money back. Looking at the link you shared, if they are $2k unpainted, I would skip and go straight to sharkskinz or comparable.

The oem fairings are reinforced abs, they are pretty tough and Ive repaired them easily with carbon after crashes, the epoxy bond seems to be permanent, however as you say glass would be better.
Anyone tried these cheapies? Fiberglass Race Front Fairing for DUCATI PANIGALE V4 R - Pro-fiber or know what "avio fibre" is because it sounds like pure marketing to me.

I’m finding a lot of stuff for the V4R but not so much for the V4S

Are the bolt up points or clip on points the same for the bodywork on both bikes?

The only difference is the side fairings. There's a bracket used for the V4R, the only thing you need to put fairings for it on a non-R model. Everything else has the same mounting points. Bikesplast fairings come with the bracket (theirs has the fairings bolt into it, whereas on OEM it just moves one of the rubber grommet mounting points) but it's just a few bucks to buy the official Ducati part.

I also don't believe you can mix and match, but I haven't tested that. Has to be either a full R set or a full non-R set.

I found em

As I’m using them for track days I’m gunna order the V4R set with adapters to go on my Anniversario…better aero

I guess if you don't want to go with the wide style it would eliminate it as an option, but I really like idea of the Sharkskins. A US based company and I can easily order replacement pieces from their site and it ships from Florida.
