Interestingly enough, it looks like the 2022 bike has all of the overflow lines running to a single outlet at the rear/bottom of the oil cooler, then just one line running outside of the bike where the airbox drain hose is on the 2021 and older bikes.

This is from the install manual for the under tail Akra system. It looks like a better system than having the coolant overflow and fuel tank overflow hoses plugged into barbs molded into the fairings.

From the 2022 parts manual.

For track purposes I wouldn't think a catch can would have to be all that big, but I don't know how they are vented.

Putting these things together today, and putting decals on….I think the red decal kit will look good on the silver, I ordered some green stripes to add to it so it has the Italian colors for a more retro look.

from a technical standpoint a couple of the clips needed to be bent inward a bit so my Dsus connectors would hook up, no big deal.

a bigger deal but not the end of the world, I’m gunna have to do some dremeling, the under tray doesn’t have a kickstand cutout, so I’ll cut that in, wanna keep the bike so I can jump on it for a little romp on the street between track days.

speaking of track days, I have some California Superbike School instruction booked at Streets of Willow next weekend, then into the shop for the new parts install and tuning, then some track days booked at Fontana…pretty stoked.

The Panigale V4 thrives at Fontana! You're going to like stretching its legs there. I'll be doing some days there upcoming too. And thanks for the pics. Your paint job looks great! Very cool.

yeah I was looking at the configuration they are running, looks good for my skill level too….fast but not super tight abs technical.

Streets of Willow will be fun, done it probably 100 times in cars but will be the first time on a bike.

I’d like to run this bike on Big Willow.

Steven this is the reason why you mount your bodywork first to see if any adjustments are needed before you paint it. Hey you live you learn!

good news and bad news…

good news is with the decals on this thing looks exactly how I hoped it would in my minds eye…

the bad news is that it’s all going back, and I’ll be spending MORE time waiting for ....

Ordered the kit from Hotbodies, a kid named Cesar was my customer service rep, he said I can get the fairings painted by him for another $450 bucks…as a time saver I agreed.

But then Cesar went AWOL….after many calls I reached the owner Roger, whose a strand up guy.

Asked about my stuff he looked everything up and got things moving but said Cesar didn’t quite the paint job right, would be $750….after some back and forth I agreed, mostly to save time moving these parts around, wanted them delivered ready for decals and install.

he got on Cesar’s ass fir not responding abs things got moving….but then went dark again….talked to another guy there abs he said Cesar was painting it….not the outside professional painter Cesar said they use….that Raised alarm bells because the kid whose painting my fairings is the awol customer service rep?

this morning Cesar drives my fairings up, nicest kid in the world….hard not to like him in person, easy to forget about him going awol after meeting him…

he leaves, I start mocking up the fairings, AND EVERY PLACE YOU TOUCH THEM THE PAINT COMES OFF….a fingernail scrape and the paint comes off….closer inspection and there are paint runs everywhere…

was pissed but thinking I can salvage my week and have them ready by next week’s track day by have my car wrap guy wrap em in protective film…so I started putting my decals on…but just sticking the clear plastic cover that holds the decal onto the bike was pulling the paint up.

Messaged Roger, the owner of Hotbodies….sent him vids and pics, abs he immediately responded apologizing profusely abs is gunna make it right on his dime.

Still annoying though, more TIME that I have very little of.

looks good but kind of a waste of do over needed.

Dang, I'm sorry to hear about your fiasco with Hotbodies. It is the wasted time that is the worst. Just the other day, I had to explain sternly to a different bike business that I was the customer, this is not my 9-5 job, and I simply do not have the time for these kinds of mishaps and miscommunications. Geesh! The world seems to be getting more frustrating. But your chosen colors look great.

Also, I haven't used these guys yet, but they've done some race bikes here in San Diego and one was an absolutely gorgeous V4R done in glossy orange, similar to the old Supperleggera colors. It looked spectacular and I was droolng over it. From what I know, they do great pant work. They are in San Diego. Home | SBKPaint | Superbike Paint

Good luck!
