I hear ya. I'm not too interested in laser jamming.

My #1 priority is discretion of devices. I want an integrated system that doesn't stick out. Then it needs to operate proficiently.

I've attracted plenty of attention with my preferred pace and I roll away with a warning the majority of the time. It's been over 7 years since I've had to do a traffic school for a citation. Can't imagine ever catching a break for speeding with a detector mounted to the handlebars. A pleasant demeanor and charm can only get you so far. If you've been pulled over, a detector makes your speed seem willful while you are trying to convince the LEO that it was unintentional.

Mine sticks out pretty plainly, however, the one encounter I had with LE, I took off my helmet (which you should do immediately when stopped anyway) and placed it over the device and mount. Cop didn't even notice it.

Mounting it on the center tube also provides a place to safely place your helmet on the bike without fear of dropping it.

I read with interest the comments earlier regarding the police showing you the speed recorded on the gun.

What actually stops them from not releasing it from the previous car/bike that they stopped or didn't stop?

I ask because I was stopped in my car a few years ago and I was very sure I wasn't speeding at the speed he said I was doing.

No real point in arguing as I had no proof apart from that bit of your brain that knows you wasn't doing 118km in a 100km/h zone ( I may have been doing 108 or something but not 118)

The simple answer is NOTHING..Nothing stops a Cop from doing exactly what you suspected..

they have loads of powers and their word (unless proven otherwise WITH evidence) is taken as FACT in a court of Law

Its not right..but it's the system we have

if the device is a laser/lidar speed device, there should be a distance reading as well. while that may not convince you, at least you can see how far away the clocking took place (200 ft, 1000 ft, etc) and maybe you'll have a better idea if that were you or not.

i am not a radar expert but if a cop clocks a speeder on radar and locks in a very high speed and later tries to assign that to you, not sure how that would work unless it was recent or the cop didn't clock anyone else in the meantime. clearly if 2 cars are approaching and one is speeding and the other isn't, cop can definitely swap. mistake maybe but i wouldn't think a cop need to take unfair advantage. who knows....if they wanted to fake it, can't they just get a tuning fork? https://youtu.be/e6idl6scNOQ

again, i'm not the expert on police radar but the two times i was shown "my speed" i didn't need to see it cause i already knew "the [speeding] facts." ;

however, it is helpful if you have a radar detector, that way you'll have a pretty good idea when you were clocked and under what conditions. to my knowledge, i have never been pulled over and accused of speeding when i actually was not speeding and that would be about 20-30 times in my lifetime. ymmv

I think it was our own Antihero that mounted one to his helmet, therefor he had fore and aft protection. From what I understand it worked reasonably well.. As far as this thread goes there are many posting from various geographical locations and that is where the debate of wether protection is viable or not gets debateable. In Maine in my part of the woods where I ride quick because I know the roads they typically use radar and they keep it on. I had a RMR mounted to the windshield of my RC51 for the duration of ownership and it alearted me to a handful of potential monetary loses. Point being, they work for me where I live; good investment as far as I'm concerned..

I like the stealth remote mount via smart ph idea, N0.1 if stopped its not obvious.
Here western in MT very very few cops around all cars & SUVs pretty easy to spot. If I see anything that could be a cop I automatically slow down, course this helps being in a sparsely populated area having a good knowledge of there patrol areas.
