On an Ohlins shock installed on the 1199 (and I may be mistaken), I believe 6-7 threads may be visible in stock trim. But it doesn't matter, 1199, 1299, etc., you don't want to arbitrarily set your bike to the same settings found on another bike... there's too many variables to consider. If you want to stray from the stock settings, then do so in small increments. Like raising or lowering the front suspension, changes in the rear will directly influence the bike's geometry... stability at speed and during braking, center of gravity, swingarm angle, cornering behavior, etc., will all be influenced.

I totally agree with u! Problem is i didn't register the stock setting before i start messing with the ride height. (lesson learned) I have 6 threads exposed now so i gues i'm close to stock again. But to be honnest i don't sense a lot of difference in handling between the settings i have tried. Maybe i am not experienced enough to detect it. Will keep it like this for now.

Someone out here who can post a picture of the oem stock setting visible threads??

I couldn't get a straight on picture, would have to take off the fairings but I counted 7 threads on my 1199 base suspension and I am pretty sure this is the way it was from the factory. Hope it helps, but again this a base 1199.

Yes thank's it helps.
Also today i met a guy with a 1299 Panigale R. I counted 8 threads visible on his bike. I now have 6 visible so i gues i'm gonna raise it just a little bit.

depending on which part you count, stock 1299 is 8 or 9 threads and currently i'm on 12 which gives a free length eye to eye of 317.
