Rear tire - low pressure issue

Soap the rim also...

I know it doesn't seem possible, but forged rims can have flaws.
I had the same problem on a forged rim I put on my F250. I did the soap on the tire, didn't find the leak until I submerged the whole thing in a pool...then I saw the air bubbles coming from the rim...

No its not too much...thats not even the max pressure allowed...
So its ok...

So I found a pinhole leakage with the method illustrated in this video:

Easy way to find a pinhole leak in your motorcycle tire - YouTube

I just used water+dishes soap to avoid spraying the rear tire with weird stuff.

I inflated to 42 psi, put the bike on rear stand and slowly sprayed and turned till I found the leak.

How comes that the dealer doesn't know how to do that (i.e. I did it and I'm far from being as professional as most of the ppl in this forum), instead of replacing valves?

Thank you for your support and hints!:D

They probably just sprayed it from a bottle on to your tire and never submerged it. Glad you found it though.

Like your manicure nikT ! ;)

You could pull the tire and patch from the inside, good as new.

There you go...problem solved!

Hello Everybody,

just a question on the pressure of the rear tire. I usually ride at 36psi.

On first service I told the dealer to check the rear tire because I've already had low pressure issues and they replaced the valve.

Today I picked up the bike after 2 weeks and when I checked the pressure it was down to 25psi. I brought it up to 36 again and then I rechecked at home and it was already down to 34. I checked the tire for nails and the like, but it seems perfect apart from standard tear and wear

Any similar stories/explanations/suggestions?

Thank you;)

check the valve NIk I bet its leaking. Trick my dad taught me when was about 10. Put some saliva on your finger and wipe across the top of the valve, then watch if you get a bubble its leaking.

My bike did the same and valve was replaced. No issues since.
