Recognition for Antihero

Congrats, AntiHero (Dennis). I do believe your genuine nature is well captured through your writing and your actions upon them, Ducati is lucky to have you as their ambassador representing the most passionate of riders from a very substantial demographic-the common career and life hard charger. This sort of marketing can potentially attract many new customers from this demographic. I'm sure that your experiences give many high achievers hope that they too can get a piece of the Ducati passion somewhere in between a nook or a cranny in their busy committed lives.

......' eh, you guys. Big swell of gratitude for all the kind words.

When I set out on the trip I never would have guessed so many great things would come of it. It's really an amazing world and there are some really incredible people in it (all of whom ride motorcycles....hmmmm...).

The Ducati experience, it goes without saying, was phenomenal. I definitely wouldn't turn down anything Ducati wanted to throw my way, but making me a part of the R Launch, introducing me to their GP riders (and Claudio, their marketing team, their techs), producing a video, setting me up at Laguna, inviting me to their corp offices--demonstrate a level of sincerity and commitment that's truly remarkable. They gave me an experience that (to me) was far more rewarding than a new bike.

With that said, I do seem to continue to run across guys who say, "hey man--I bought my bike because of you!" And in the past 10 days I've sent two first time Ducati buyers to Newport Beach Ducati....maybe I can get a coupon code or something activated so we can track just how many people found themselves riding a Ducati after reading my R/R? :p

Congrats Dennis! That is soooo awesome. A dream come true. I agree, between that experience or a new bike I would definatly go with the experience! Something your gonna have with you forever! Congrats again and thanks for documenting it so well for others to see and read. I'm sure there have been MANY inspired because of YOU. Thumbs up!

Congrants man. Dennis( Antihero is better by the way)

Loved the video. !! loved the whole coast to coast report and the pics :)

I'd like to know who the two jerk offs were that "disliked" it!
How can you dislike Anti Hero!
He gave us an awesome read and adventure to follow, lots of good info.
Is always polite even if he dosen't agree with you.
Nothing but respect for him and that trip he took.
And thats a cool video too!

Great recognition for Dennis and I always felt like you were representing for all of us......pretty awesome to live the dream or riding coast to coast and maintain such a great perspective on life. Cheers!

I'll chime in here with my 2c worth. I actually bumped into big D at Infineion a few months ago - his plate gave him away. He'd ridden to the track - we hit 100F that day with nothing much more than a few tools and a bottle of water so we shared some of my shade and had a great day. We stayed in touch and hooked up at the next track day as well and let me tell you this boy can ride. What also struck me is how nothing phases him. His shifter screwed up at the track and he takes himself off and just casually, with a pocket knife, piece of string and a bit of gum, he fixes it!! He is a very self sufficent guy who would give you the shirt off his back and always happy to give advice freely.
I'm really glad he's got this recognition from Ducati to - way to go Dennis. Safe trip back to SF.

The only reason I survived either of those days was because of that shade and those bottles of ice water you let me douse myself with (track thermo reported 109 F and I was dying). You really saved my ....

recognition well deserved as he's done a huge thing to promote the 1199 as an everyday rider. Anytime someone says something about the heat, position etc I think of AH!

Most of us long time members of this forum have already read AH RR, but if you're a recently new member, do yourself a favour.
1. Set some time aside (say a Sunday morning)
2. Grab a few beers
3. Follow this link Coast to Coast (and back?) with an Italian Supermodel - ADVrider
4. Sit back and enjoy the read.

PS. Don't make the same mistake I did and start reading whilst at work. (Unless it's a really slow day) You'll get nothing done for the rest of the day :D

yep, a great read, I read it as it came out so wasn't quite as much of a time user as doing it now.

Very well deserved recognition. I think it's amazing that we have such a great Hero in our community. My favorite read was the iron butt from Texas to Arizona. And AntiHero's pic of the Pani and coyote in Death Valley is how they should have released the Pani instead of the "checkmate" video. Congrats AntiHero. Ride safe and keep us posted.

I agree with what everyone else has said and can't add much more to it. He's doing what i wish I could do... Just take off and let it happen. I have so many balls and chains it's not going to happen though. Reading his journal allows me to experience it, vicariously. I also think he has quite a talent for his prose and photographic skills. If you haven't, start reading about his new journey to the PNW on ADV rider.

Lol Sunday morning; grab a few beers!!
Yessir!

Wow! That was a cool vid and great recognition from Ducati to Antihero for his cross county ride on the Panigale. I envy you Anti but that was a well deserved dream come true! Thanks for sharing your story and thoughts with us.:)

That's a cool video. I really enjoyed watching it. Dennis, thanks so much for sharing your stories and all of the cool pictures that you took on your trip. The only bad part about the trip was when it was over. I didn't have anything left to read! You deserved everything that Ducati gave to you. Thanks again and I can't wait to read and see more photos of your next journey.
