Gents,
Doing some work on my old bike renewing some wiring. The wires live inside the clutch housing in hot oil and so have to be renewed every once in a while. Anyway this wire stripper is a great tool and works better than the old pliers type. Made in Germany so you know it works. You can buy different sizes too. Cost is about $30 USD I think. Weicon Tools No 5.

Works like a charm.

Dear Brad

Sorry, but you need the Weidmüller Stripax. They have existed since the beginning of time :)
The big difference is the segmented knife (actually 70 knifes).
Let me know if you want one, no problem.

The KNIPEX MultiStrip 10 is even cooler because it works automatically, but it is not optimal for very soft insulation materials like silicone.

Thanks for the tip mate.

Klein wire strippers are also one of the tools I recommend for professionals. I like this model because of its compound-action stripping, which allows you to grip the wire and then strip it one squeezing action. This makes wire stripping a single-handed job, allowing you to be more efficient in your workflow.

You need to identify what wire you will be using. If you are using general plastic insulated hook up wire, all of the above will work. If you are using the wire you should be using M22759/ then the Ideal Strip Master or Ideal Ergo Lite is the way to go. I won’t use anything else.

The Klein tools wire cutter and stripper combo can accommodate solid wires from 8 to 20 AWG and stranded wires from 10 to 22 AWG. It can also cleanly strip insulation up to an inch (25 mm) in length in one step.
