Replace Antifreeze

Help Support Ducati Forum:

yep, done it. used Engine Ice. Drain plug on lower left side of the bottom radiator (need to drop left main fairing and bottom cowling). I flushed with distilled water about five times before I ended up getting the last of the original coolant out. For the fill I refused to take off the front fairing as some of the threads say you have to - instead I used a small plastic funnel with clear tubing shoved onto the end, and led the tubing through the gap between the right front fairing and the fill holes in radiator and overflow bottle. Just have to flex the fairing a bit to get some room, then snake the hose in.

Guys, who can tell me how many liters I need to pour in the RADIATOR when I have drained whole old coolant and flushed the coolant circuit?

I can not find this info :-(

Yes, I saw this info but I can not understand this is only radiator volume or plus expansion reservoir.

Looks like 1,5L (upper & lower radiator) +0,8L (expansion reservoir).

Who can confirm or disprove?

uh..that coolant says it is OK for dirt track use... It is propylene glycol based and will not meet roadracing ie blacktop use.

Charlie already answered your question. Owners manual says coolant capacity is 2.3 l

I am not agreed. Both radiators have lower volume than 2.3L.

I am using the AGIP/ENI OEM coolant which is very good.

Apologies for the ~2 year thread revival.

I'm not going to do a full flush & replace till summer, but the expansion tank is on Min. Are there any safe alternatives for top off...or do I need the OEM (ENI/AGIP Coolant)?

I assume mixing propylene glycol (eg Engine Ice) w/ the OEM ethylene glycol is a no-go. I prob only need ~ 300ml to get the expansion tank topped off.

When I do the full flush this summer, Ill likely change to something more easily accessible.
