Leftcoast...
I have a '13 S
I switched out the swingarm pivot plates to those of an R model

And yes, the '14 R comes with 24degree rake cups. The '15 R also adds 5mm forward offset

Pilot...
Thanks!

Bjorgens,

Do you know where (over the 14 R) the 15 R adds this 5mm? Are you saying the extra 5mm is in the cups?

My 15 R came delivered in -4 set up.
Its strange as the handbook says verbally that it should be in 0, but the accompanying
graphic shows it set to -4 ??
A few weeks away from the track yet to see how it feels when pushed a little bit.

My guess is it was wine-thirty over in Italy and the technical writer forgot to edit the '0' to '-4' in the document, but the graphic made it in. I'd leave the rear set at -4 until you find fault in it. It was a big change for the better for my 'R! Have fun with that '15!

It is in the cups. The top and bottom are offset from each other to pull the head angle in .5 degrees. To get the the 5mm wheelbase increase, both top and bottom are moved forward relative to center.

Thanks for writing down your feedback...
Do you happen to have part numbers for the steering head kit?

B

ALCON- here are the part numbers you need to get your Panigale front end to the 2015 R geometry-

2 70241231A Bearing, Steering NTN SF07A17P
1 75610422AA Bush
1 75610433AA Bush
2 93041911A Dust Cover

The only downside to installing these upgrades is losing the functionality of the steering locking mechanism with the key tumbler when parked. I don't really care about that so IMO it's all good.
The parts should run roughly $300.00USD and the labor should be roughly the same. I bet Jarelj can hook interested people up with the pieces for a reasonable price with the support he gives everyone here on the forum.
Enjoy! :D

I think the part numbers above from 'Pilot' are as utilized on the 2015 R. If I'm not mistaken, your existing kit has parts as come with the 2014 R.

Am I wrong?

So why did they add 5mm wheelbase in addition to the 24 degree to the 2015 R, but not the regular 1299?

Maybe the extra 5mm will help cut down on front tire rubbing.

Have you done anything to the bike ? Pulled the forks up through the triple etc .

The ducati spec is 253mm (+-0.5) which in their world is measured from top of cap to top of bottom triple. I have gas carts but the overall fork length is within 2mm of stock and I am within 2mm of their "spec" setting.

I think in this case it's a combination of a large front tire (compared to say a Pirelli SC) and the oil retention pan putting a bit of pressure on the radiator holder. It's hard to determine exactly what that means in mm, but I'd guess it's a couple. That combined with one particularly bad braking zone is creating this problem.

I intend to modify the retention pan.

You left the radiator fan/shroud on when you installed the oil retention pan? I didn't even think that was possible.

No. My setup is as wilkson describes but the lower rad has a tab which slots into the bottom of the oil retention pan, which I believe is putting pressure on the holder and moving the whole affair forward slightly.
