I can't wait to see all that gloss carbon fiber next to a fluorescent number 46! We can do a forum poll to pick the paint job! I should have thrown in "if he gets second you have to have 'The Doctor' embroidered on the ass of every pair of pants you own".

yes i know he is retired. he made some good quotes and a good rivalry with rossi. he may race 2 or 3 as a wild card this year who knows. as for the rest lets just hope i dont have to buy a 46 monster hat and wear it all next year. i like marquez a lot. would love to see a rookie win the whole thing. i really like spies and hayden cause they are american but neither have a shot. just hope its a good season

i didnt say i would paint my bike however if i have a good year in the market maybe pick up an 09 or 10 r1 rossi graphics so i can crash it on the track lol

Two things. 1) you won't have a good year in the market (that's not possible) and 2) I think your mouth got you in trouble and painting your bike is a really good possibility. We, the forum members, will accept placing "The Doctor" on the butt of every pair of pants you own for one year coupled with the 46 hat and helmet as a substitute if you really don't want to paint the bike.

Yeah, sorry I missed you guys. I was playing golf the day that Gunny had his carbon fiber party. We'll do it again soon though. Tell you what, we'll settle for you buying the Oilquarium and etching Rossi's face in the plexiglass. How's that?

If he's not gonna upgrade all his pants with "The Doctor" then at the very least, along with the hat, he has to change his forum picture to Rossi on the podium.

it's funny tho, because you're a stoner fan, if pressed you'd probably say he got all his wins on pure skills and the equipment had nothing to do with it, but Rossi only got all his wins because of who he was or the superb equipment he was on. You won't give any credit to Rossi. Just kinda funny,

Keeping in mind I have almost no interest in MC racing.

Ok here are some tidbits that all you people worshiping at the alter of Rossi should know and never ever get talked about because he is and did so much for moto gp (ill give him that much) and the Rossi goggles are on and you dont want to admit it.

Lets break this down. First the 7 titles (Premier class). Rossi 7 titles were due to many factors. best equipment, team, money and for 3 of those titles lack of competition before stoner and lorenzo burst onto the scene.
When bayliss, biaggi and checa where at yamaha, yamaha basically said f you to their requests. when rossi got there they DOUBLED THE STAFF to accomodate him. He got all changes he wanted when all the other riders were told too bad (language adjusted for post) The satellite teams all shared knowledge with the factory teams as well

If rossi is so great of a rider he would have had at least several podiums on the ducati . after two year even with a crap bike he should have done much better. All he did was cry. The Very Same Bike stoner pummeled the competition on.

If the bike was so bad nicky never would have regularly beaten rossi. Its actually embarrassing for what many in this world allege is the best rider to not even be able to adapt his riding to a different bike. The best can and do this all the time. A world class rider adapts riding style to suit the bike.

Lets talk competition and rules for a moment. How many years was rossi allowed to cleanly pass (where other riders wold deliberately pull off the race line watch the races objectivly) and let rossi go by then get back on the race line and fight the next guy? How about being able to pass stoner under yellow flag at Philip Island. how about no punishment for dangerous riding or for passing stoner in the dirt at laguna. finally how about the time he deliberately punted sete off the track. nothing was done ever about any of this.

Stoner has been in the chase 1/4 the amount of time of rossi and out of the 2 riders Stoner is the guy (at the time he did it the only guy) to win at every single track in the moto gp circuit.

Finally rossi had many great riders help before him with the devlopent of the bikes he rode. Yamaha stated that their bike was not far off from the honda. checa bayliss biaggi edwards and sete all help develop the bike rossi road. he reaped the benefits of other great riders before him.

Also Rossi beat Loreznzo when they were both on the Yamaha. And one other thing is Rossi finished ahead of Stoner in Stoner's last year after wrecking his leg and missing 4 races so he didn't pummel the competition on that bike. He came 4th. He won in 2007 on a completely unrelated bike when Ducati got the jump in power terms in the first year of 800s. If you watched that season you will have seen a bike that was stupidly faster than anything out there and everybody was shocked by it when they saw the first race.

You also neglect to mention that Stoner's 2nd championship came in 2011 when Honda tried everything and pumped massive amounts of money into their GP team in order to win an 800 championship which they had never managed. The Honda was embarassingly faster than everything else and they ran 4 factory bikes. Only the Yamaha being a slightly better handling bike and Lorenzo's consistency allowed him to finish as well as he did.

Rossi was running pretty much identical times to Stoner the year before when he went to Ducati but amazingly Honda and Yamaha improved their bikes - something Ducati haven't seemed to manage since 2009/2010. But sure they are all the same as 2007 right?

To sum up Stoner won when he had the best bike in 2010 and a clear rocket ship in 2007. So your anti Rossi spin also applies to him!

And to clear up I'm not a fan boy of anybody, but the weird vendetta that Stoner lovers all seem to have annoys me, as does selective memory and saying that the 2007 bikes relate in any way to current ones!

What I dont understand or at least funny to me...about the comments regarding Rossi

Most people in the history all types of event/sports/significat achivements or whatever are because all things coming together at that point of time.

Maybe Rossi was one of those category of "all things coming together" and good for him. The fact is that he and his team/bike was able to do it and win at that point of time better than others. Everything else dont matter and almost sound like sore loser.

Is Stoner better than Rossi? maybe he is but at that time years ago, was a moment of time that Rossi and his team was able to do it.

Fastest lap time by whoever does not discredit someone had fastest time few years ago because during that time, it was the best time that guy that bike was able to do beyond others.

I personally dont really care about Rossi (I admit that it will be very interesting if he starts to win again), although he has given much to MotoGP world. If I had to pick one, I would pick Marquez this year. New blood and he has the hunger it seems.
