Rossi paranoia? Or accurate analysis?

That's a pretty ignorant thing of you to say. Doesn't matter if you would say that about any of the other racers. You hope that someone crashes? Really? What are you 12?

Some interesting racing would be to see all 4 battle again like they did at PI. Here's hoping to that.

Lets take it that I am 12, at least I know the meaing of the word ignorant & how to use it.... How about this to appease your senses?

Rossi DNF, that is some happy new news.

^^This.

I think Rossi's setting up some mind games for the next two races.

Agree, he's not trying to bitch about MM, he's trying to undermine JLO's confidence. Think about this from JLO's perspective...and it'll make sense.

And to what someone said earlier, I don't think MM is all that clever, either.

At any rate, drama just raises the stakes and makes the races more interesting!

Shameless rossi fanboy, out.

It actually was a proper use of the word if you consider the informal definition. His point is that it is a rude or discourteous comment to hope for a rider to crash out of a race, but I digress.

I personally hope he doesn't crash. I'm a big Rossi fan, but he'll have to earn this championship. Whatever his motives are in saying these things publicly, it definitely adds a level of drama I don't care for.

Get out there and twist your wrists boys...

Honest/serious question - why do you hate the drama?

Rivalries, nemeses, ....-talking, emotion...it all just makes it more interesting. It's true for boxing, MMA, football, basketball, etc. If everyone just went into a competition all smiles and handshakes and "may the best man win!," and then ended it in smiles and handshakes it would feel absolutely sterile, wouldn't it?

It adds a deeper level to the competitive spirit in these guys, even an element of humanity that we can all relate too. Fierce competitors want to win, and it's all personal for them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm big on sportsmanship, and there is always a line. But a little drama just makes things that much more exciting on race day.

been following the guy and his championships for 18 years..years after year..

He has been through every possible situation, last lap battles, mind games, last race championship fights, including being directly involved in his friends death at sepang, 2 horrible years at ducati...Add to that the plethora of rivals over 2 decades, 2 different brands, 2-stroke, 4 -stroke era, 880, 990 whatever kind of MotoGP bike was on the grid for last 15 years, he rode it...
I think the experience alone FAR surpasses everyone on the grid, let alone the natural talent that is equal to many fast riders...

mind games or not, this guy is already a Legend for ever, if he doesn't win the title, he gave it his ALL and if he does, it will further prove his GOAT status

I think MM is preparing for next year when he hopes to reclaim the title, and probably expects to give Rossi a further taste of his own medicine

regardless of what happens, for true enthusiasts, it will be fun to watch and experience..

You're right and I agree, mostly. I just don't want Marc to become an unnecessary distraction when he is already out of contention. At this point, I just want to see this go down between Jlo and Rossi. With that said, it doesn't mean I don't want Marc fighting for victories to the end. Hard to articulate....it's complex, obviously.

In saying that , perhaps I feel the way Rossi feels, and maybe that's why he made these statements....Rossi plays cool cat, but the pressure must be immense. He is definitely the underdog at this point, despite his points lead, and it doesn't matter what anyone says, "10 Time World Champion" is worth infinitely more legend status than "9 Time World Champion"

Any one of us would be pretty irked too if we thought Marc was intentionally ....... with our destiny!

amen

Rossi has been there done that, and got the trophy without a doubt..

But for what I would like to see in a racer, he is not it.. Bring on a modern day Scott Russell (without getting beat up in the bar) or Barry Sheene. Not likely, such a bitch a$$ world we live in these days.

It's called PSYOPS, Rossi is a master at it, he will use every trick in his bag to win his 10th title. Who can blame him? I think it's great ,it sure beats last years run away title by the Kid.
This one is a real cliff hanger.

you guys are not looking into Rossi's master plan. He is saying that so that MM actually "dont" help JLo. MM will now prove that he is NOT helping him.

Its a reverse psychology - "is a technique involving the advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what actually is desired: the opposite of what is suggested."

you go that right

And this is exactly why I don't watch Fencing.

I do not think MM is feeling a .... for Rossi's Psy Ops. MM has prodigious talent and is enjoying every moment of it. :D

Jeez. May be true but there is still a perception and it will effect him...even if little so at the end, Rossi win in the head game. It's him vs JLo.

Without a doubt he has to come up with something to make it acceptable (For his Ego) that he typically cannot beat Lorenzo in the dry.

I am hoping for MM (REPSOL) to crash Rossi out of a race... Will make for some really intersting racing in the finale, and talk in the off season.. not to mention plenty of excuses from Rossi fans why he didnt win the title.

exactly as i watched free practice 1 and 2 i realize he wasn't joking. the press is all over this.

hows this rossi be able to beat JLO and MM and you won't have to make excuses

....... with his destiny, really? so marc isn't allowed to go out and win a race cause its rossi destiny? maybe if rossi was faster than mm or jlo he wouldn't have to make such stupid comments. cry cry mm is faster and he doesn't want me to win. go out and win and then you don't have to whine.

reminds me of ...... football team that crys they dance in the end zone. instead of crying don't allow them to score
